Same here. It's better than nothing.

But it is a sad state of affairs when we have to be appreciative of "better than nothing".

They had no problem updating the reservations with GP, so what is the problem with WoH?

GP didn't allow suite upgrades on all pts reservations. WoH does. Multiple people have reported that P+C and cash reservations are still getting confirmations with the upgraded room type. There's something particular (that we don't understand) about all pts reservations. Hopefully they'll figure it out so it can be "seamless" again, but I'm not holding my breath

Side note, people are adding a lot of data to the wiki, and that's great, but is that what your reservation confirmation says, or what you actually received. Since a lot are in the future, I'm guessing its what the confirmation says. It would also be helpful to indicate actual suite received. All reservation confirmations are going to show the same base suite type, but that's not necessarily how the property will treat the member when they arrive.

I could almost forgive (but not understand) the failure of being unable to either get the email change or the account page right for an upgrade on an all-points res, but they are also having problems with other types as well.

I have a 7 night stay with the first night P+C and the rest on 4 cash reservations. They're not able to show the upgrade on any of it. I had the same type of res and upgrade in January at the same property and the GP system was able to show the upgrade on both email and my account. Under WoH I have a tacked on memo on the email and nothing on my account.

Interesting read from a travel blogger on Hyatt's new program for receiving DSU/TSU's:
https://www.travelcodex.com/2017/03/...ravel+Codex%29

He comments on how he felt he was treated like he "was treated more like cheating the system" for cramming in his 25 stays in Jan-Feb of this year. I think this is exactly why programs like Delta and now Hyatt and others are moving to revenue based systems or making it more difficult to get top tier thru additional nights per year.

At the GH Tokyo, no suite upgrade available in advance and they indicated that all suite upgrades are now only the Grand Suite King and no longer the Grand Executive Suite King. The Grand Suite King is a not true suite in that it doesn't have a door between the bedroom and living room per one of the staff I spoke to and that is why in the past they would upgrade using DSU to Grand Executive Suite King. Seems like the GH Tokyo took the "improvements" of WOH to heart and showed us what's still to come.

Mine still have not been processed. The room is blocked but now was told that the "off shore" team has not processed it yet. When they get around to it, the upgrade award should be deducted from the account and an e-mail confirmation sent. So far, 12 days and counting and one still has no points deducted for the cash and points reservation and the other has not been processed.

What is the downside of them showing the upgrade correctly but not pulling the TSU? I have 3 reservations with suites confirmed, but only 2 TSUs deducted. Should I hunt down which one doesn't have the TSU attached?

That is my question as well. The phone agent told me it means that it has not been processed on the WoH side. It could also just mean that the off shore WoH agents that they hired to do this have no clue about the process and processed the upgrade without deducting the upgrade. I am also told that everything is fine with a cash and points reservation where the points were returned. Will I have a problem at the hotel when they find out no points were deducted and they are only getting $55/night? Who knows.

Booked an all-points reservation today and then called in to add a TSU. To my surprise, the agent changed my reservation to a P+C+TSU booking! And that wasn't what I asked for. I knew something was fishy when I asked her to do a second all points booking + TSU and she claimed that she couldn't. I wish that I would have noticed the change then. Now I've been on the phone for over 15 mins waiting on them to fix this.

Well they got it fixed after contacting the hotel. Not sure what the other agent did. I have a 3 night res with 2 nights on full points and 1 with free night certificate. She mentioned that they will just keep me in the suite on the 3rd night but we will see. I'm hoping that they will given the new rules and the fact that I'm already in the suite.

Good luck with your "squatters rights"

I'm with you, doing a TSU squatters rights approach with a 10 night all points followed by one night Cat 1-7 stay.

Seeing as how others here have already had success with getting upgrades just in regular reservations, I'm not going to be so negative about my chances. People were getting "squatters rights" before the new upgrade rules so I doubt they are going to get worse.

Reading the comments above it sounds like my situation is very similar. I was excited about the new program and the opportunity to use an all points reservation with a TSU/DSU. I had a Monday/Tuesday in the fall at the PH Chicago. Wide open availability including all the suites. I called twice to apply the TSU and both times they said none are available. What gives? I get it is horrible for Hyatt financially, but is the T&C is specifically states you can use a TSU/DSU with an all points reservation. Let the games begin!

It could be that the hotel has downgraded what it considers an entry level suite to be. The Grand Hyatt Tokyo has done exactly that. So what used to be the redemption level suite now appears "wide open", but the room that they currently classify as an entry suite (which, in an incredible coincidence, is much rarer than the previous one) is nowhere to be found.
