Points award bookings do not have to pay resort fees at any property - that's part of the T&a S of Hyatt

Wife and I will be staying four nights over labor day weekend. Does anyone have recommendations on transportation from CUN? Are we better off renting a car? Pricing?

Thanks in advance.

There are several recommendations upthread. I would recommend USA Transfers. About $110 per person R/T.

We used USA Transfers to another resort in the area and were pleased with their service. Booked it online. No problems.

BTW, in order to do this, on the form one needs to choose "Hyatt Playa del Carmen" from the drop down list. It's not listed as "Grand Hyatt."

Does anyone have an e-mail for the General Manager, or other contact who I could write to with a request?

Thanks everyone. I also just noticed a few options in the wiki, which I didn't see on my mobile device.

Has anyone rented a car?

I am going this week so I should be able to help you out.

I am staying my first night at a small boutique (cheap) hotel called Hacienda Boutique. They and others have suggested the ADO bus. http://everythingplayadelcarmen.com/...uide-in-playa/

when I wrote to grand hyatt for their transportation suggestions - even though I mentioned airport bus, they only gave me private limo suggestions.

I have a suite reserved using a DSU. I contacted them and asked about a plunge pool suite and they indicated that we could have one for $50 extra per night. It appears it is the same size suite and only has the plunge pool extra.

We did indicate that we wanted a room close to the ocean with a nice view and away from the noise.

Thoughts?

All Suites are Ocean Front, check my review. And yes, as far as I recall, the Suites are the same, with a plunge pool outside on the balcony. If you want it quite, ask for a Suite away from the Day Club. It is loud starting around 10/11 am, getting very loud in the afternoon, with a max exposure until 7 pm.

Thanks. I did read your review. It doesn't seem worth it to pay $50 a day extra for that plunge pool.

I already asked for a suite away from the club
Thank you.

The plunge pool suites are identical to the DSU suites and in my opinion no big deal. If you can get Mario ( club manager ) to check you in you may get a free upgrade to one. Swim up suites have no view and mosquitoes.
South side is definitely a must due to club noise (11am-6pm)
Try putting on your charm bracelet and go for one of the Executive suites 👍
They have one of the better clubs with an excellent breakfast and a good spread in the evening. The dessert offerings and drink selection is not too shabby either.
