They're larger and located between the bedroom and closet. It's an unorthodox configuration but it really works well in this class of room.

Just completed a stay at PHT as a Diamond. I was upgraded to a Park King Deluxe, which was very nice. Staff did not mention anything about the happy hour. As others have commented, the complimentary room service breakfast option was noted on the breakfast menu.

I must say, while most of the staff at the hotel was very good, I was less than impressed with some of the front desk staff who insisted on acting as concierges when the real concierges were unavailable. While the PHT is nice, based on this stay alone, I would put the service well below that of a MO property.

In Japan there is a desire to help with the thought that "any help is better than no help".
In other parts of the world, no one will help because it's not their department.
I have had the same issue and the way I've resolved it is to ask for a specific person by name.
The positive response I get is overwhelming and one of the many reasons I always look forward to going back to Japan.

I'm here now. Enjoying myself for sure, but I get what you're saying.

Perhaps it is the air of unsociability about me, or maybe unpleasant body odor, but by the third visit the staff seemed to have learned the appropriate times to just "back off" and let us be.

That the entire staff of the PHT seems to learn exactly what each customer wants over time would be their biggest appeal to me if the facilities themselves weren't quite so excellent.

I stayed at PH Tokyo from 7/20 - 7/24. It was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to stay there again. I would have to say that the PHT is now my default choice in Tokyo. The only hard part was leaving.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by hotel staff and our bags were automatically loaded onto a cart. The woman escorted me up to the check-in area, where I was informed that I had been complimentary upgraded to a Park View Deluxe King (Yay!). I can honestly say that the Park View rooms are in my opinion the best. I love sleeping in a corner room. And, from what I can tell on the pictures, this is the only room where you can do that. In the Park Suite, the living room is on a corner, however the bedroom appears to be not in the corner.

The pool was amazing, as well as the NY Bar, where I spent as much time after 8 p as possible, and racked up quite a bar bill as well.

The night before leaving I settled up my bill in full at the concierge. This was because I had to leave at 6 a.m. the next morning on the way to Narita. I recommend for people to settle up their bill on the night prior to leaving, if you have to leave early (as I did). This makes it much easier to leave in the morning.

There is also a small delicatessen on the first floor, which I didn't get much chance to explore. They also had some works from the Japanese artist, who designed the sculpture above the main entrance. There was a smaller version of it for sale for 30,000 JPY. Sadly, I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure if it would fit in my carry-on (it would have).

However, next time I am there, I will buy it.

Any recommendations on going to PH Tokyo for NYE? I'd like to do this, but am concerned that I wouldn't be able to get into the NY Bar. But, overally, an outstanding stay at an amazing hotel. Worth every single penny to me, and more.

I think a minimum three night stay is required for NYE.

Suite

Hi,

I just booked 3 nights in a twin suite using points. Does anyone know if you get upgraded to a bigger suite as a Diamond member?

I also just got the Hyatt card and heard that if you reserve the 1st night as a Suite award and book 2 consecutive regular twin nights they will automatically upgrade the rest of the stay to a suite because the first was a suite. Does anyone recommend doing this?

Thanks in advance.

No, you don't.

Not if your stay depends on your having a suite. There's always the possibility of getting lucky but, as the PHT is a very popular option for using suite upgrades, they will most likely have no problem moving you into a regular room.

The only issue I had with the concierge was somewhat minimal. I was looking for luggage locks, and all the concierge would tell me was to go to Tokyu Hands. I don't know if this is a tough request, but wouldn't a great concierge 'make it happen', and get one for you knowing that you needed it that badly? Especially, if the client was from a foreign country, had limited time, and was showing indications of stress?

One quick question on the Park Suites at PHT...

I have never stayed in one, nor have I ever actually been in one of these rooms. For those who have, could you please give some indication as to your level of satisfaction with such rooms (Suites)? Price is a separate indication. I'm more interested in what you actually thought of the room, and also how much light you got in (which is why I like corner rooms).

thks

I've stayed in a Park Suite twice, and enjoyed it very much. My favorite suite upgrade of any Hyatt I have been to. There are windows on two sides, and seemed bright enough for me with the blinds open (and dark enough for me with the blinds closed)

If you really want the experience of sleeping in the corner, you can always ask for an extra bed (which I found to be just as comfortable as the regular bed) and have it set up there...
