The following thread and its wiki provide all the information one needs to know about taking a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport: Catching a Taxi at BKK and general Thailand taxi discussion [SEE WIKI FIRST] The wiki discusses the breakdown of taxi fares from the airport to central Bangkok where Grand Hyatt Erawan is located, and addresses the possibility of being slightly overcharged by a taxi driver.
Alternatively, Grand Hyatt Erawan offers airport transfers in its own fleet of silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-class sedans. The prices of these service are S-Class THB 3,300 (net) per one way transfer (per post 1976) and E-Class THB 2,500 (per post 1975) to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Guests using this service will be greeted by a representative at the airport, assisted with their luggage, and escorted to the waiting car.
For an additional charge, the hotel can also arrange "Fast Track" (VIP lane) immigration clearance, as well as the option of being met at one's arrival gate by a buggy and escorted through Fast Track immigration. This service is available for THB 1,600+ 7% vat per person, or THB 2,400+ 7% vat per person to include Golf Cart and porter services.
AOT (and perhaps other companies) also provide transfers from and to the airport. Various vehicle types are available at different price points: Camry (THB 1,200 one way), Mercedes E-Class (THB 2,400 one way).
I always use http://www.limousine.in.th for my car needs in BKK incl airport transfers. 1050 THB from BKK to the city, 900 THB city to BKK (incl tolls).
UBER no longer operates in Thailand. Instead, use GRAB. Similar to UBER, prices will vary. On my trip, I was able to get a GRAB for 364 THB from BKK.
Taxi should run between 400-500 THB. If going from the hotel to BKK, the hotel will quote 500 THB. I had to wait for a few taxi's as the first two didn't want to do unless I paid 750 THB.

Grand Hyatt Bangkok (Erawan) REVIEW - MASTER THREAD
Is renowned in town as ground zero for higher end sexworkers for extended engagements, vs bar girls.
Mildly mind-boggling my first time there... one of many cognitive dissonance experiences in BKK, to be sure.

Service was very good, breakfast in lounge or lobby dining room. Lobby breakfast was much better than in the lounge.
They have a "hidden" Indian food menu that you can order from as part of the breakfast. Samosas, curries etc very good stuff.
Lounge offerings in the evening while better than north America lack quantity, two nights in a row they ran out of food items a good 30 minutes before the dining hour ended. I and other guests asked for more and they simply said out of stock.
Stay away from spasso in the evenings, there is literally no place to sit without having affection for hire next to u. Try the Sunday brunch, it's particularly amazing given the fact that there is all you can eat Foie Gras, prime US beef, and Alaskan king crab.

BTW, between Santa and christmas carolers in the lounge and the festivities at CentralWorld, what a great place to spend Christmas!!
Suite upgrades are tough at this hotel as they don't have too many and the property has a big volume of Globalists (easy to see considering how packed the club is). They usually assign suites to return customers respectively their most frequent guests. Sometimes they also offer the cottages which I'm personally not very keen on but some folks get a kick out of it.
It may well be true that, as of July, the entire property was non-smoking, but in May, when I was there (Memorial Day Weekend) they did put me in a smoking suite when I told them I was ok with it. It was the only suite available when I checked in (late at night) The suite had ashtrays and matches in it, so I'm sure that you actually were allowed to smoke in there (it was not just a "BS line" from the FD). I can't remember if I actually smoked a cigar in the living room or not (I smoked several by the pool, which was allowed only in one relatively small area, in the uncovered part to your left when you enter the pool area)
I'm unfamiliar with Thai law (recent or otherwise) so I can't comment on the legality of it, but I can assure you that in May 2019 there were suites in this hotel where you could smoke. Things change of course, so I have no idea whether that's still the case.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok = Improved Odds of Suite Upgrades for Hyatt Globalists (10 Photos)
Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok
Grand Hyatt Erawan has reopened July 1st and I had a quick stay there. Unlike a growing number of hotels in Bangkok, Grand Hyatt has not lowered their rates materially to attract business so I am not sure this strategy will be successful in the short-term but they have time to adjust. To go along the price level which was maintained, thankfully I found that the post-covid changes were reasonable and some ways better than the elite benefits offered in the past.
Room
As can be expected with low occupancy I received a suite upgrade as Globalist guest, in fact I even arrived at the hotel one day before my reservation and they had no problem updating my booking on the spot. The suite was the same as usual – it is not anything special for Bangkok standards but I like the fact that it is of a decent size and has 1.5 bath including a Toto washlet in the master bathroom. The view from our room this time was better than in some previous stays because we could see the sports club from the working desk from our high floor. One issue that remains however with a room with the nicer view, from that side of the building the noise from the BTS sky train tracks can be a problem even from high floors especially since Grand Hyatt is at the intersection of both BTS lines so there is traffic. They provide ear plugs besides the bed to mitigate the problem. I also noted that the mobile phone with internet access for guest use was no longer offered, and June Jacobs bathroom amenities have been replaced by Balmain.
Dining
The breakfast buffet used to be great at this hotel. Post covid many other hotels have introduced an a la carte menu but unfortunately Grand Hyatt has not (yet?). Instead they have a slimmed down version of the buffet and a chef gives guests what they ask for. The choice of fruits was quite basic and hot dishes were ok: fried rice and a couple of noodle dishes. It’s not what it used to be, that said some other hotels we have visited in Bangkok recently have worse breakfasts even with a la carte options, notably Anantara Siam. So I would say Grand Hyatt is now average compared to others – if they want to be above average they should consider offering an a la carte menu without cutting out the buffet.
The Club Lounge remains closed like many other hotels in Bangkok, but I found the alternative offered in “You & Mee” to be quite good. They have a menu from which you can order anything you want, which I prefer to the small buffet they used to have in the club lounge. So if anything, instead of making covid cuts to happy hour, at the moment it’s even better than before and the Yom Som O dish was particularly delicious. Also during our stay there was a holiday with alcohol not allowed to be served in public. Instead of using it as an excuse to deny happy hour drinks, they proactively brought a bottle of wine to our room which was appreciated.
Service
Service has not been a weakness of this hotel before and especially for a returning Globalist guest service continues to be excellent.
Wifi
Wifi worked well with speeds of 65-70 Mbps.
Overall
Since Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit has opened in December 2018, Grand Hyatt has been getting somewhat squeezed and in fact sometimes Hyatt Regency is more expensive than Grand Hyatt depending on dates. That makes it harder for GH to compete for Hyatt loyalist guests but it also means suite upgrades are moderately easier to get now, which used to be a problem at this property back when it was very popular and suites frequently fully booked. While GH is not my favorite hotel in Bangkok, it has enough strengths for me to return on occasion and now prices are lower, happy hour is enjoyable, and suite upgrades are more plentiful for the foreseeable future with the depressed number of tourists in Bangkok.
The company that provided the mobile phones with Internet access went out of business before COVID.
