Airport Transportation
The following thread and its wiki provide all the information one needs to know about taking a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport: Catching a Taxi at BKK and general Thailand taxi discussion [SEE WIKI FIRST] The wiki discusses the breakdown of taxi fares from the airport to central Bangkok where Grand Hyatt Erawan is located, and addresses the possibility of being slightly overcharged by a taxi driver.
Alternatively, Grand Hyatt Erawan offers airport transfers in its own fleet of silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-class sedans. The prices of these service are S-Class THB 3,300 (net) per one way transfer (per post 1976) and E-Class THB 2,500 (per post 1975) to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Guests using this service will be greeted by a representative at the airport, assisted with their luggage, and escorted to the waiting car.
For an additional charge, the hotel can also arrange "Fast Track" (VIP lane) immigration clearance, as well as the option of being met at one's arrival gate by a buggy and escorted through Fast Track immigration. This service is available for THB 1,600+ 7% vat per person, or THB 2,400+ 7% vat per person to include Golf Cart and porter services.
AOT (and perhaps other companies) also provide transfers from and to the airport. Various vehicle types are available at different price points: Camry (THB 1,200 one way), Mercedes E-Class (THB 2,400 one way).
I always use http://www.limousine.in.th for my car needs in BKK incl airport transfers. 1050 THB from BKK to the city, 900 THB city to BKK (incl tolls).
UBER no longer operates in Thailand. Instead, use GRAB. Similar to UBER, prices will vary. On my trip, I was able to get a GRAB for 364 THB from BKK.
Taxi should run between 400-500 THB. If going from the hotel to BKK, the hotel will quote 500 THB. I had to wait for a few taxi's as the first two didn't want to do unless I paid 750 THB.

Grand Hyatt Bangkok (Erawan) REVIEW - MASTER THREAD

Couldn't agree more.
When checking in, I assume the FD will be dealing with me in good faith and have no qualms when suite upgrades aren't available. However, if I find out otherwise, then like VG, I'll never do business with that specific property again. I can't fathom how any hotel GM worth his/her salt could find it acceptable for a top tier guest having to ask the FD staff for any entitled benefit. Any property having issues with the tier benefits, should withdrawal from the Hyatt portfolio and market their establishment purely on the appeal for their top drawer service.
That I've read on here where in certain instances suite upgrades were granted only after asking and prodding is remarkable to me. I find this notion so distasteful that I'd rather not have the upgrade, especially in Asia where the concept of face is so important. Imagine, a hotel's top tier guest having to ask/beg the FD staff for an upgraded suite he's entitled to? I'd rather leave, spend my $$ elsewhere for the room of my choice, rather than start off a trip/stay with something this untoward and awkward.

My argument with the property was that when they tried to upsell me, they told me that the cost was the full cost of the suite (which I could see on the app) in addition to the rate that I was paying for the room. They didn't just try to upsell me; they tried to overcharge me for the upsell. There were also some other issues with that stay (trying to deny me other benefits that I was entitled to, although I just argued until I got those)
But, my point here is, many properties will go above and beyond in a case like this and just upgrade you if anything is available, even if it's something above what you're entitled to. I won't make a big deal about something that I'm not entitled to, but I definitely make note of which properties go above and beyond and which ones don't, and I choose where to stay accordingly.

I don't get why people care so much for toiletries. For me they're all the same. As long as the format is good (a pretty small bottle, not a nasty dispenser) and they don't smell awful like the W / BLISS crap… soap is soap.

Contrary to the other post above, I far prefer the Le Labo products from the Park Hyatt Zürich. Also the Argon products at Andaz Tokyo. The spa cottages in BKK are nice but the toiletries are average and they stopped stocking the fridges with complimentary ice cream and sorbet long ago...

I actually had a 2nd stay here in May.
I did not apply a TSU. They almost didn't upgrade me despite there being a suite available. I pointed out that it was available, and they said that it was a smoking room, and my preferences indicate a non-smoking room. I told them that I didn't care, and they gave me the suite.
I wish that there was a way to indicate that I prefer a non-smoking room if all else is equal, but my preference for a larger room or suite should take precedence. There isn't, so I just changed my smoking / non-smoking preference to "no preference".

Suite upgrades are tough at this hotel as they don't have too many and the property has a big volume of Globalists (easy to see considering how packed the club is). They usually assign suites to return customers respectively their most frequent guests. Sometimes they also offer the cottages which I'm personally not very keen on but some folks get a kick out of it.

Some information about the F&B Outlets at this property:
1) Tables Grill has closed and will change to an Italian restaurant in the next couple months. Too bad as I loved the Sunday Brunch at Tables (at least before the most recent chef hacked it into pieces).
2) Spasso will no longer feature a restaurant and continue to provide bar plus hookers.
3) The 494 Wine Bar now has an Oyster Special on Mondays which is pretty good value (55 THB net per oyster).
4) Erawan Tea Room now has portable air conditioning units in the restaurant even though it's much cooler now in Bangkok so those should disappear sometime soon.
The hotel is currently running advertisements for Club at the Hyatt on Social Media despite Table being closed for 2 weeks now and will remain so for another 1-2 months. Price went up again and no discount or remedy is provided for the current downtime of their main fine dining outlet. My membership expired in December and after 5 years I didn't renew but I'd be pretty p'ed off about this.

In fact, it's illegal to smoke inside a hotel in Thailand. The ban was recently extended to public spaces within 5 meters of entrances and exits. SGS as a consequence has banned smoking at the pool.

That being said Spasso is really not a work environment, it has loud music blasting and hookers all over. The 494 Wine Bar isn't too bad but U.S. hours mean night time here in BKK so it's likely closed.
"The Bar" at Park Hyatt is nice and quiet!

The bar (Spasso) won't be closed but the restaurant attached will be as soon as the Tables has been converted to the new Italian restaurant.

While Bangkok has a vivid nightlife image there is in fact very little option past 10/11pm if you look for something quiet. or decent.
You might be able to find a low-key rooftop bar like Air at Hyatt Place where it's not that upbeat. The Lounge at Grand Hyatt closes at 10pm, I recommend trying to get a suite upgrade at the GH and work from the living room. Regular rooms are tiny tiny.
There is also a McD next door at Amarin Plaza but it has horrible ventilation and smells like sh*t. As Kacee mentioned above the Waldorf next door has a nice bar or the St Regis as well. Even the Intercontinental across the street is better. Also Beer Republic at the Holiday Inn is very popular now and maybe a good idea for your purpose.

If you get a suite or Spa cottage then work in the living area. I suspect you could also work in the GH lobby. There's a lot of tables.
