Airport Transportation

The following thread and its wiki provide all the information one needs to know about taking a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport: Catching a Taxi at BKK and general Thailand taxi discussion [SEE WIKI FIRST] The wiki discusses the breakdown of taxi fares from the airport to central Bangkok where Grand Hyatt Erawan is located, and addresses the possibility of being slightly overcharged by a taxi driver.

Alternatively, Grand Hyatt Erawan offers airport transfers in its own fleet of silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-class sedans. The prices of these service are S-Class THB 3,300 (net) per one way transfer (per post 1976) and E-Class THB 2,500 (per post 1975) to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Guests using this service will be greeted by a representative at the airport, assisted with their luggage, and escorted to the waiting car.

For an additional charge, the hotel can also arrange "Fast Track" (VIP lane) immigration clearance, as well as the option of being met at one's arrival gate by a buggy and escorted through Fast Track immigration. This service is available for THB 1,600+ 7% vat per person, or THB 2,400+ 7% vat per person to include Golf Cart and porter services.

AOT (and perhaps other companies) also provide transfers from and to the airport. Various vehicle types are available at different price points: Camry (THB 1,200 one way), Mercedes E-Class (THB 2,400 one way).

I always use http://www.limousine.in.th for my car needs in BKK incl airport transfers. 1050 THB from BKK to the city, 900 THB city to BKK (incl tolls).

UBER no longer operates in Thailand. Instead, use GRAB. Similar to UBER, prices will vary. On my trip, I was able to get a GRAB for 364 THB from BKK.

Taxi should run between 400-500 THB. If going from the hotel to BKK, the hotel will quote 500 THB. I had to wait for a few taxi's as the first two didn't want to do unless I paid 750 THB.

Am staying here now as a glob, was placed in grand exec with my tsu. It's just ok not amazing but ok.

One thing that drives me nuts is the table in the room I work on is not sturdy at all. It tips over if I put too much weight on it. Can't imagine this hasn't fallen over on ppl in the past

If anyone has any questions please let me know I am here till 10/1.

The nomenclature of WoH status tiers continues to amuse me every time I read about Hyatt status. Especially the abbreviation “glob.”

Grand Executive is a very spacious category. I hope you enjoy your stay.

You could tell them to change it or make it weighted with something. This property aims to please Globalists.

Have emailed the guest experience team, let's see what they do. Was just curious that others hadn't mentioned it.

Turning down the volume as Spasso would be nice to please this glob, and maybe hire a DJ who didn't grow up in Stockton, CA.

One thing to mention is that the lounge here is VERY crowded, to the point that it's standing room only. Food is okay but not amazing like in other lounges.

They are moving me to a spa cottage to address the room issue, apparently it has a better desk?

It has a large table in the living room, which can certainly be used as a desk!

It has a sturdier table desk. Standing room only sounds terrible.

Was upgraded to room 504 pretty much an amazing upgrade.
as mentioned above there's a separate room with a dining table there's also a steam shower and it has its own massage bed room area.Pretty amazing.
I don't know why anyone would turn this down. The staffer that walked me to the cottage told me that sometimes the upgrades are refused because when it's raining it's hard to make it back to the main building. For me it's well worth it. If you guys want pictures let me know I can post them. Suffice to say if you can get the cottage I would say go for it.

The cottage can be a lot noisier since it's right by the BTS and I feel the bed isn't as good as the ones inside the hotel. It's the best for pool access and having tons of space.

Are you referring to a Grand Executive Suite? Those are spacious indeed. I find the total lack of non-suite room varieties a big problem here. Unless you have a suite you just have the same room on a different floor.

The names and design of the WOH program are still a joke to me. I started to use an almost mint Hyatt Diamond card issued in the early 2000s with the Hologram it. It often raises eyebrows.

Am thoroughly enjoying the spa cottage although be warned they get quite warm during the day because of all the windows.

As I was walking today I noticed they also have two bungalows rooms 523 and 524 not sure what those are but they look to be even larger than the cottages.

Stopped by spasso for a drink last night and it was a mistake...helvetic was right it's filled to the brim with girlfriends for hire. Will not be returning there.

Those are spa treatment rooms.
