Bring family?
This resort is not orientated for children. No kids club, pool is not suitable for young kids, and you will need to pay the transfers for each child, and plenty of PDA.
That said, some families have loved their experience here. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...hadahaa-review. If you bring children the Hyatt does provide sitting service for $20/hour.
Also note that the resort charges $250 per child age 3 and up per night (even if the child does not require an extra bed). Only kids 2 and under are free. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...a-bed-fee-ever

As at January 2022, the resort's wifi speed is 10-12Mbps.
Tipping
The management views employees as each part of a team, with no one more important to the hotel's success. No one wants to order room service if the groundskeeper or housekeeper has not created an inviting place to enjoy it for instance. So employees share equally the 10% service charge added into everything, including the room charge. Tipping beyond that is not necessary, but at your discretion. Unlike the service charge which is shared with all employees on the entire property, if you choose to add additional gratuity to the bill for a meal or an activity, that money is shared amongst employees of the department responsible for that meal or service (e.g. additional gratuity on a dive center bill will be shared amongst those employees, while additional gratuity on a Dining Room bill will be shared amongst the food service employees). Employees are also allowed to keep cash tips that they receive directly. Employees are rewarded with trips and other gifts when their outstanding service is brought to management's attention. A great way to reward a good employee is by letter to management.
See this post which provides more details http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22508516-post1525.html
Ipad App
There is an Ipad in each room that has an app with a lot of useful / interesting information. If you have an Ipad, you can search & download the app for: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. It doesn't work on an iPhone due to the page size. Some info may be out of date or missing, so check with the resort.

Beautiful hotel
Hi,
We just got back from 4 nights at this hotel and had a great stay. We used points for the 4 nights and had the standard villa. No upgrades (no surprise as no longer Diamond) but our villa (#9) was excellent. Lots of space, direct access to the beach through the trees, short walk to the main area.
As mentioned previously the transfer is easy enough, takes a few hours.
The weather was ok - of the 5 days 3.5 were sunny, 1.5 rain off and on and a little windy.
We walked round the island a good few times and seemed that some villa's were better situated than others, e.g. ours was very private and "our beach" had no rocks and was private where you could sit on the lounger and not see anyone. Others either fronted rocks, were very open or had very small private areas. I definitely would avoid pool villa #1 as it has zero privacy.
Cost of being there as mentioned is expensive but not outrageous I don't think. Drinks by the pool no worse than in a Miami hotel - $8 beer, $14 cocktails and $15 wine.
For food a lot of people mention the breakfast, but we skipped that and just had lunch. If you are on a budget the sandwiches ($22) are big so can easily be shared.
Dinners were excellent every night. We did the Maldivian buffet on the beach on the Wednesday for ~$115 and it was good.
On our return transfer we had a few hours between flights so left our bags at the left luggage at MLE ($5 a bag) took the water taxi ($2 e/w) into Male for a wander. Worth doing to see a different side of the country, though very busy and a lot hotter than the hotel island (not great prep for a 42 hr journey home on reflection). We were going to do this ourselves but when we mentioned our plan to the GM as we were dep he offered to organize a guide, which he did and we were met on arrival. Certainly helped and cost was up to us - gave him $15.
Also worth noting that you are not allowed to bring duty free into the Maldives. Thankfully we checked prior as were going to stock up in MCT.
We didn't do any excursions, just spent the time relaxing, which this hotel is absolutely perfect for.

Trip Report: seven nights at Park Hyatt Maldives
We had seven amazing nights at the Park Hyatt Maldives in mid November.
This is a really nice resort. I've read almost every single trip report, and will try to address some of the concerns I had going in.
Travel time: For the ones who are obsessed with travel time, like me, here is a lowdown on our itinerary once we landed in Male:
07:45 AM: Arrived at Male Airport
10:45 AM: Depart from Male to Kooddoo
11:55 AM: Arrived in Kooddoo after a stopover at Kadhdhoo airport to drop off people
12:10 PM: Depart Kooddoo on speedboat
12:45 PM: Arrived at Park Hyatt Maldives
01:15 PM: Arrived in villa
Travel experience: The waters were pretty smooth going there. No motion sickness.
Pool Villa: There was a private entrance to the small sandy beach. This was a very good villa. There were certain things that I prefer in the pool villa over the water villa, such as (1) the larger feel of the room, (2) less wear and tear, (3) larger bathroom, (4) air conditioner was able to keep the rooms cool (5) private beach access, and (6) privacy.
Water Villa: Although the villas were nice, and supposedly an upgrade to our "pool villa", I actually prefer the pool. The water villa was a good experience and I highly encourage staying in one for the experience, but if we were to ever go back, I'll be happy with a land villa. This is because the water suffered more wear and tear and the rooms felt like it needed an update. Another thing was the temperature. The room doesn't get super cool. Keep the shades drawn when you're not in the room. I don't think this should be a deterrent to anyone who decides to stay in the water villa. It's cool enough, just not ice cold.
Food: The food is fairly priced. It might be on the high end to some, but for a resort this remote and has pretty decent offerings, there were no complaints from me. I've been in resorts that are not as remote and has way worst food! So, pretty good under the circumstances.
Seven nights, too long? For us, no. It was just enough. We didn't do any excursions. We did some snorkeling and the house reef is pretty good. I am not a fair judge of that as I don't really do water sports, but the fish were colorful and they swam up to me. The days went by very fast once we unplugged. The scenery was beautiful, the sand soft and fluffy, the water temperature very nice, and just about the most gracious employees! Such a memorable stay!
Our day consisted of (in no particular order, except waking up first and sunset later):
- waking up before the sunrise
- star gazing before the sun rises
- watching that sunrise
- relaxing
- reading
- staring out into the open waters
- snorkeling (we did this twice)
- swimming
- drinking cocktails (diamond benefit of the sundowner)
- walking on the beach (it takes 15-20 minutes to walk around the whole atoll)
Overall impression: We loved it! Would highly recommend. I've heard that it's not the BEST resort, but for a miles and points enthusiast, this is as good as it gets. So go, enjoy it. Don't think too much about it. Just experience it! Have fun! And make all your friends and family at home jealous!

Nice report. The fact that you're a relaxer (as you've noted) I think is a major variable towards liking a Pool vs. OW villa. For anyone that is obsessed with snorkeling and diving and in and out of the water multiple times (like a half dozen say) per day (even shore diving from the villa deck), the OW villa is a must, or should I say odds are this type will greatly prefer a OW villa. And, with all that in-and-out of the water, the limits of the A/C (which are good enough for anyone wearing beach wear all day IMO) will not be an issue.

I have some Hyatt Gift Checks to use for an upcoming stay here. I see that I can also get 10% off many activities by booking through the PH Maldives e-concierge and pre-paying.
Does anyone know if I'd be able to use Hyatt Gift Checks to "pre-pay" for these activities?

We arrive in 40 hours!
UPDATE:
The 10% discount for SCUBA requires both booking at least 10 dives and doing so in advance.
We arrived last night, and the staff has already treated us extremely well as repeat guests.

Here now and leaving on the 26. Weather is great, hot and humid, pretty standard for the Maldives. There has been a little chop near the reef but nothing to stop you from snorkeling. Water is warm and perfectly clear. It did rain on us on our flight in but so far we have not had any weather on the island. Travel safe!

I don't think 14 days is crazy at all! We are here for 9 nights currently and we are planning a 12 night stay next year. The snorkeling here never gets boring (this is our 19th day here including past stays) so that is out primary activity. We also like the fishing trip and will do it twice during this stay. I caught a small fish yesterday but thankfully the guides caught larger fish for us to eat for dinner. I think it is one of the best deals for activities since it includes fishing and dinner for a reasonable price. The Diamond sundowners are nice and help keep a schedule before dinner. Other than that, we have not tried any other paid activities and mostly relax at our plunge pool, on the beach in front of our villa, or in the room.
