The shortest flight from Male Domestic terminal to Kooddoo Domestic Airport is ~55 minutes and the longest flight takes ~1 hour 45 minutes due to a ‘stop over’ in Kadhdhoo Domestic Airport.

A scenic and short speedboat journey of approximately 30-40 minutes (weather dependent) will follow as the final stretch of the journey to our island.
Any last minute name changes on domestic flight ticket are subject to a fee levied by the Maldivian Air. All such changes will be charged at the rate of USD 100 net per person. The exact flight timings are released two days before departure, but tend to be around these times:
  • Arrivals (Departure from MLE) : 10:30-11:00, 12:00, 13:40, 17:30hrs and last flight at 23:30
  • Departures (Departure from Kooddoo) : 0545hrs, 0800hrs, 1130hrs, 1530hrs and last departure at 1830hrs

Excess baggage will be charged and is subject to space availability and terms and conditions of the Air Carrier.

Map of the resort
Best Villas
Water villas: Generally the higher number the better. #51 is the most private
How to save money during stay
Have late breakfast (breakfast is free for all guests except if you are redeeming points), skip lunch, and only pay for dinner
The Saturday free cocktail social (manager's reception) is at 6:30pm
Bring family?
This resort is not orientated for children. No kids club, pool is not suitable for young kids, and you will need to pay the transfers for each child, and plenty of PDA.
That said, some families have loved their experience here. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...hadahaa-review. If you bring children the Hyatt does provide sitting service for $20/hour.

Also note that the resort charges $250 per child age 3 and up per night (even if the child does not require an extra bed). Only kids 2 and under are free. http://travelsort.com/blog/park-hyat...a-bed-fee-ever
Wifi
As at January 2022, the resort's wifi speed is 10-12Mbps.
Tipping
The management views employees as each part of a team, with no one more important to the hotel's success. No one wants to order room service if the groundskeeper or housekeeper has not created an inviting place to enjoy it for instance. So employees share equally the 10% service charge added into everything, including the room charge. Tipping beyond that is not necessary, but at your discretion. Unlike the service charge which is shared with all employees on the entire property, if you choose to add additional gratuity to the bill for a meal or an activity, that money is shared amongst employees of the department responsible for that meal or service (e.g. additional gratuity on a dive center bill will be shared amongst those employees, while additional gratuity on a Dining Room bill will be shared amongst the food service employees). Employees are also allowed to keep cash tips that they receive directly. Employees are rewarded with trips and other gifts when their outstanding service is brought to management's attention. A great way to reward a good employee is by letter to management.
See this post which provides more details http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22508516-post1525.html
Ipad App
There is an Ipad in each room that has an app with a lot of useful / interesting information. If you have an Ipad, you can search & download the app for: Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. It doesn't work on an iPhone due to the page size. Some info may be out of date or missing, so check with the resort.

Hi. I'm sure this has been asked prior, but we are coming in on CX from HKG to MLE. Would most suggest staying overnight in Male or go directly to PH Maldives and get in 2-3am?

Pros for staying in Male includes getting a full day at PH Maldives next day and also seeing the transfer/arrival in daylight (almost like a mini-tour). Cons are I don't know if it is a hassle to transfer from airport to stay at Male hotel and more traveling.

I've also heard someone mention somewhere that they might change flight time for CX to arrive in MLE earlier in the near future.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated. Would like to finalize plans for late summer visit (1st visit to Maldives) before the PH Maldives change category in late Jan.

Personally, I would stay at one of the airport hotels and take the first flight next morning to PHM. There are quite a few new and reasonable prices hotels (Newtown or Crown Reef among others) less than 10 minutes from the airport. Most are less and $100 including airport transfers.

Opinions will vary. As mentioned in one of my prior posts(http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/23912121-post1947.html), I much rather suck it up, get to the PH, and enjoy my precious time in the Maldives, rather than deal with checking in with another hotel that night, and then transiting the next day.

Came across this from their Facebook page http://youtu.be/FXVjfesO350

Seems like a music video but could also be an advert on the hotel. Very cool aerial shorts.

Accompanied by a spread in Russian cosmo http://www.cosmo.ru/health/pregnancy...oy-temnikovoy/

Thanks for the advice regarding both sides of this decision. I think I'm going to go with the overnight at airport hotel and go next morning to PH Maldives option. I think the wife and I would appreciate the plane and boat ride over in the daytime much more.

I really appreciate learning that there are airport hotels on Hulhumale also. That might be even more convenient than ferry over to Male.

Just realize that leaving in the morning means it will be well past afternoon by the time you arrive on property. From arriving in MLE, we did not arrive at the property until about 5 hours later. There is something to waking up and being EXACTLY where you want to be... Without having to worry about a thing. For us, enjoying that extra sunrise was well worth the extra night of board at PH Hadahaa.

Maldives - Activities & Dinner Feedback?

Thanks for all of the suggestions earlier on the transfer, we decided to push forward and arrive at the resort late at night (and wake up there in the morning!).

Now I'm doing some research on the various activities. Is there any consensus on which 'must-dos'? Or more importantly, any that we should avoid? i.e. not worth the money or time?

We are there for 5 days, and ideally we'd like to have a range of activities (and no diving for us).

We were looking at the Reef Exploration (3 hours for $250/pp) vs. Journey to Island Creation (4 hours for $375/pp)?

And any feedback on the Traditional Fishing vs. Trolling Fishing vs. Lucky Dolphin Cruise?

Finally, for the private dining options - is there a big difference between the nature dining vs. lagoon? Or the starlight terrace? Is private dining worth it vs. just eating at the Grill?

Just trying to get a sense on how we get the best value for the money during our time there! All feedback or suggestions are much appreciated.

We most recently did the traditional fishing trip. It was a nice experience, and the crew was very pleasant. If I remember correctly, this allows you to watch the sunset during your trip. Also, your catch is cooked for you (either that night or you can have it stored in the kitchen's refrigerator for the following night). Altogether a nice trip and def worthwhile from the cost saving perspective given that it also provides a meal.

Just arrived. Unfortunately the weather today has been horrible, so have yet to see the property in its full glory. Diamond treatment has been very good, with a pool room upgrade and nice welcome amenities. Obviously a few diamonds staying here based on all of the sundowner snacks being distributed at the bar.

A few thing to note that have changed since previous posts:
- The menus at both restaurants have completey changed - must admit I prefer what we had seen on the Hyatt website (which has yet to be updated), particularly for the grill restaurant, eg the appetiser selection and wagyu steak options
- Water is no longer fixed fee free pour, but 8 dollars per litre

Getting here was a pain, but that was to be expected.

Will write a proper review once I leave.

We have flown on the first flight out (7ish) twice and have arrived in time for breakfast had we wished to have it. I don't think you lose much of the day at all and get to see some spectacular views on the way. Also, the small planes can be a bit nerve racking for some passengers in the dark. We prefer to save the points and just arrive for a full day but that may not be everyone's preference.

When I was there in Jan I was able to request unlimited free waters from the Villa, has that changed? We were always charged per bottle during meals with the exception of free breakfast(courtesy of diamond).

We stayed at this property during January and I am itching to go back. I was planning on booking a later stay for 2015 before the devaluation hits. can anyone comment on how the weather was for them for a visit between May - October? Would the upgrade fee to OW villa be less during one of these particular months?

Will be in Maldives mid-Feb, and we will be staying at Park Hyatt on points. Booking now before devaluation, but what do you recommend, 25k/night or 12.5k + $150/night? If the latter, will that permit us to have the free breakfast (as I read that breakfast is not free if on award nights)? We will be there for 3-4 days. Is this enough time to enjoy? Is there no other way to find food like a grocery store there? haha Will be reading TRs but want to get info from all others who have experienced this amazing place.

I think it will come down to there being any cash and points availability. I just tried for Nov and Dec 15 and there wasn't a single day according to the agent.

I can't imagine staying for less than a week in the Maldives, especially given the travel time to get to the PH. You are joking about the grocery store, right?
