question about length of Diamond Trial

I'm going to be travelling more in the future and had a question about the Diamond Trial.

I know it is only successful if you stay 12 nights in 60 days. I plan on having 5 nights at the start, a few nights in the middle, and then 5 more nights at the end.
My problem is that the start of the first trip and the end of the last trip are about 70 days apart - not 60 days.

Do they accommodate extending the trial by a week or two?

Thanks.

You can always ask...but as the trial conditions are already very generous compared with the usual means of attaining Diamond status, I assume that the answer is no.

I just had a 3 night stay and it was paid by corporate account. I did have incidentals and the stay has posted and my qualifying nights went up by 3 and also received 1000 point bonus for each night per the Diamond Challenge. I'm assuming those 3 nights will count towards the 12 needed?

You scared me with that statement because they wouldn't accept my many nights with SPG or Club Carlson (because they don't match SPG/CC) and I've only had 4 nights with HH as Gold, but here's what they said:

Does any one know if the competitor stay w/in the last 12 months has to be a paid stay (as compared to a reward night)?

I've got PC Plat and I would book a reward night in order to enroll in the Hyatt status match.

Thanks.

I had a question about getting the Chase credit card in conjunction with the trial.
I'm platinum right now, and if I get the card, I get 2 free nights + 2 free upgrades (good for up to 7 nights each I think).
If I hold off till I start the trial, then I get two free nights in a Suite.

Seems like it is better to get the card while Platinum... am I missing something? Are there some details that I am not realizing?

Thanks.

Diamond trial comes with 4 free upgrades on paid stays. So, yes, you are missing something.

Ahh, I missed the 4 free upgrades on the trial. Do these expire if you do not complete the trial successfully?

Also, if you get 2 free nights and 2 free upgrades, how is that not the same (or better) than 2 nights in a suite? Don't the upgrades get you to a suite? Are the free nights confirmed where the upgrades you only get at check-in?

THanks.

Free 2 nights in a suite is confirmed at booking - while the 2 free upgrades are valid only on revenue stays (not applicable to any awards). It can be argued that 2 free nights in a regular room + 2 free upgrades is better than 2 nights in a suite - YMMV on that issue.

When do you get to confirm the upgrades? Is that at time of booking?
Since I usually have paid stays, it seems like the upgrades would be better for me.

I have gotten them at around the time of booking.
