So I emailed asking about the challenge, got the standard form letter email asking for proof of status with another program, emailed a screen shot of my Hilton Gold status, and then received an email saying that since I had no Hilton stays showing on my screen shot, I was ineligible for the challenge.
Very frustrating when so many others have gotten it with no questions asked.

You could always just stay a single night at a local Hilton and then approval would go through.

Yes, I was indeed hoping to get the challenge to cover an upcoming stay without any intention of meeting it.

I have to make a BRG claim right now to get a lower rate, but my stays may occur in May/June.

Diamond Status Challenge from another Hotel Company
FTer's, I am currently a platinum member with Hyatt but wondering if I could status match from say a Hilton Gold account or LeClub Accorr Hotels Platinum to challenge Hyatt for an upcoming trip at the end of March. It would be great to be a Diamond member when I visit Buenos Aires and Mendoza, staying at the Hyatt for all.
Thank you!
Thank you!

You should be able to with the Hilton Gold status with a fair amount of activity.
I'll merge this with the min status challenge thread.

If my colleague enroll at diamond trial now (Feb 9), would the status be active exactly 60 days or till the end of April?

My challenge ended on the 14th and my status was still active into the following month even (80+ days).
I don't know how much longer it would've lasted because around the 6th I received credit for a past stay and my challenge was then successfull.

Challenge dilemma. I am Plat and have a 9-night family trip to California starting on March 29th. I'm considering using my Hilton Gold to challenge to Hyatt Diamond just before the trip for breakfast and suite upgrade reasons. We're a family of 4 so if GP rules allow a 2 night, 2 room stay to count as 4 nights, I might complete the challenge.
Here's the dilemma. I have a 4-night, 2-room award stay June 22-25 at the PH Paris vendome. If I don't complete the challenge, I'm concerned my status would revert to Plat before our arrival. Once the challenge begins, I can contact GPCS and they would make note of my Diamond status on my res, but wouldn't they notice a reverted Plat status upon checkin in Paris?
So, it seems that if I were to start my challenge in late March, my tier expiration if my challenge is not successful would be the end of May, correct? Or should I start the challenge in early April, thus making my Diamond expiration June 30th and after our Paris stay?

"When member is paying for more than one room, only the room in which the member stays will count toward Diamond membership."

Hyatt GP terms only allow accrual of one qualifying night per calendar night, regardless of the number of rooms booked. For as terrible as Hyatt's IT systems are, they are very good at enforcing this one. For a 2 night stay, you will get credit for 2 nights, whether you have booked 1 room, 2 rooms, or more. This case is specifically addressed in the terms:
"When member is paying for more than one room, only the room in which the member stays will count toward Diamond membership."

I was able to find discounted pre-paid rates (seems like they have these specials every month or so) for pretty cheap ($80 per night). Plus, I was able to get extra points for the Amenity (1k per stay) and Regency Club being closed (2.5k) on the weekend.
If you do the points math, you're getting ~400 points for the room, ~120 points bonus, 1k points for amenity, and 2.5k points for the RC. So just over 4k points per stay. If you figure each Hyatt point is worth ~$0.016, you're close to break even.
PLUS, you get another 6k bonus for completing the challenge.
You could spend a bit more on a nicer hotel for the weekend mattress runs as well - wife would like it, nice breakfast, etc.
For me, it was a no brainer to spend some extra $$ to get the status for all my trips for the year.
I haven't been to the Vendome, but everything I read says it is a major win if you have Diamond status while visiting there.

What's the Challenge?
What IS the Hyatt Diamond challenge? The first few posts in this thread offer no clue. Key questions, given current Hilton Diamond status and lots of stays there:
- How many stays (or nights) does Hyatt require to make Diamond under the challenge?
- How long do you have to make those stays?
- If qualifying after 6/13, is status good through 2/15?
- If you've been Hyatt Diamond in the past, do you qualify? If so, how long since your Diamond status ended do you have to wait to do the Challenge?
