Status Match + FastTrack = Diamond til 2012 -- CONFIRMED
Dear Gold Passport Concierge,
Similar to question about, but signed up for the Instant-Fasttrack program and then I was status matched (from Hilton) to Diamond which said that it expires on 2/28/11. I've got 12 nights to date, since I originally signed up for fasttrack program, will my Diamond also be extended to 2/28/12 when I hit 15 nights or did I actually mess my self up, by requesting status match, therefore requiring the 50 nights for 2010.
Thanks

Another data point - everything worked seamlessly for me:
2/16/2010: Joined GP and registered for the Fast Track promotion
7/30/2010: 15th night completed (nights were spread over several stays through the spring and summer)
8/4/2010: Stay from last week posted in my GP account
8/5/2010: Logged in this morning and noticed that status tier had been updated to Diamond, with expiration date of 2/28/2012
8/5/2010: Promptly updated my FlyerTalk profile!

It used to be very common at Singapore in my experience, although since they built the second club, they can fulfil their obligations without having to put you in the front tower.

Very similar to my time-line as well!
Registered for promotion on 2/22/2010 ... and achieved GP Diamond on 7/26/2010.

My 15th night within the promotion period just posted , I called to fix that the stay was posted as points instead of miles, and also inquired about how long it'll take to have my new status reflected.
The CSR was reading that I was enrolled in a "platinum" program, but put me on hold for a few mins , and came back on to say that yes, I'll get Diamond status within 48 hours

Any luck in registering for this promo retroactively - either on the site or by contacting Hyatt directly? I've been very loyal to SPG (Platinum for years), but would like to try out Hyatt. Wasn't paying attention to their promos and now wishing I had been!

Dear Flyer Talkers,
We appreciate all of the interest and feedback regarding our Trial Tier Offer. We are currently evaluating the success of this program, and we are going to discontinue it for now. Members who already registered will still be eligible to participate under the original terms.
Sincerely,
Karen Smith

While Peter and others have theorized that this was pulled because of overwhelming response, and end-run attempts, I wonder if it's because business has picked up. The announced Q4 (rather paltry, IMO) 10,000 bonus points for five stays seems to me to be evidence of this. Then again, no one pops a surprise blockbuster like Hyatt.
