Also, unless the TPG writers use pseudonyms for either their writing or their Hilton account, their belief they travel 'incognito' seems naive at best, I have no doubt their Hilton accounts are documented with who they are.

Glad we're not going until mid-September to celebrate our anniversary, hopefully most kinks will be worked out by then.

One benefit I hadn't seen before mentioned there is that Crockford's guests will get reserved chairs at the pool, wonder which pool though?
And these so-called anonymous tpg people received a suite at the Conrad for less than what they were paying at Crockfords? Compare that to the poor guy on this thread who had to pay MORE to stay at the Conrad.

Seriously. I can't even count how many stories I have read about being the "first" to trips like cruises and resorts and how it went terribly. How I deserve this and that. You can wish for whatever you want. I have no interest in being first in any of these types of things, merely to have a bragging point.

With that said, what an absolute nightmare. This place has already destroyed it's online reviews. Hilton has done damage to their brand too by not even trying. I'm usually not the first to complain about a business and expect the world to be given for mistakes. To make those people pay more for their Conrad stay was insult to injury. At least be able to say something good.

TravelZork reported that the infinity pool is no longer the Crockfords exclusive pool and that the Cabana pool (next to the infinity pool) is now the Crockfords pool. I would assume chairs at that pool.

Ouch - was this treated as a walk, where your first night is paid for by the Crockfords?

edit: I see that to date it has not. It is unacceptable that your rate was not honored. But you know that, so I will be interested to see how this turns out for you. Hope it works out for you!

I don't think the infinity edge pool was ever intended as the Crockfords exclusive pool. Reserved chairs at the Crockfords exclusive pool seems like a slightly dubious benefit, if it's exclusive to the Crockfords I expect to be able to get chairs. I suspect most if not all chairs may require a reservation on weekends.

Exactly. I've experienced this on both sides of the Front Desk.

As a guest, I was the first person to stay in specific room at a swanky Las Vegas resort. I think it was their third night of being open for guests. Turns out, the shower wasn't properly grouted and it flooded the bedroom. It was a huge hassle.

As an employee, I worked as Night Manager of a hotel during the soft opening period. Like Crockfords, we really shouldn't have been accepting guests. But, the owners needed money and didn't want to change the opening date. I spent my evenings taking complaints and making punch lists of items that needed fixing (or completing in some cases).

That was a horrible job.

I am dubious about this whole business. Resorts World is a dreadful company. Have a look at reviews for Resorts World Bimini - a huge blight on Hilton. But, Hilton wants to stay in bed with one of Resort World's main owners - Genting - a huge, corrupt, Malaysian government-owned hotel and casino group. Lay down with dogs, wake up with fleas.

I knew that things could happen when it comes to new hotels. I do think that they dropped the ball on a number of things. I don’t know if they were being less than transparent or just didn’t know but they assumed I knew I had been moved. When i asked they said “you didn’t know? You were supposed to be notified”.I guess I assumed that I would be staying at Crockfords since they had checked me in instead of sending me to Conrad check-in. No apologies for the move until i had inquired why i was moved but having to pay more was the worst thing about it and get none of the benefits of being a Crockfords guest. So far i have not heard back from Hilton.

just to clarify that Genting is not Malaysian government owned. The owner of Genting Group, Lim family do have close ties to the Malaysian government

I have a few questions that I would appreciate if anyone could provide some ideas/discussion!

With the new change to the Daily Food & Beverage Credit for Hilton Honor's Diamond members, the revised credit will be $25 per day per guest (up to a maximum of 2 guests) for this resort as it falls under the LXR portfolio, correct? From what I read on the Hilton site, this can be used for any food/drink at ANY time during your stay, not just limited to breakfast.

With that being said, has anyone had any experience using their annual Amex Aspire $250 resort credit towards their stay here? Any issues with charging food, spa experiences, or even shopping from the hotel to their room and getting it reimbursed by the credit card benefit? I'm interested especially with the fact that this combines 3 properties (Hilton, Conrad, & Crockfords) into one so not sure if there was any hiccups in how it gets coded. (my assumption though would be if you can charge it to your room, resort credit consumption should be no issue since this falls under a hilton.com/resorts location).

Thanks very much in advance for the insight!

FYI. Travel Ruby had her Crockfords reservation cancelled and got all 3 nights at Conrad/Hilton refunded. Mentioned towards the end of the video.

Yes, I watched to the end, and it of course sounded like she was refunded, not because she was a wronged regular patron, but because they knew who she was (whoever that is) and that she is either from/appears in the Las Vegas Review Journal (hard to catch everything she said because she talks so quickly). What I also found interesting was that after reading about the many glitches at the Food Stall place she didn't mention it at all while she was ordering/eating, but did at the very end of the video.

She did a live stream on her first day at the resort and mentioned that she was moved from Crockfords to Conrad; the Las Vegas Review Journal used her comments from that video in one of their Resorts World opening day articles. Nobody is denying that she was refunded due to her being quoted in the article but it is something I would bring up to Hilton if I was not offered whatever I am entitled to under their walk policy.

So it seems like if you are not TPG or social media influencer, they don’t care. I am guessing these are the exceptions so if you are a regular person like me, you are SOL.

Disgusting.

So when you contacted the Lurkers here they also said they could do nothing? How in any universe is this ok. You aren't even asking for a refund, just to not pay MORE.
