I was told on the phone when I called the Waldorf that they had other options besides pastry and smoothies.They assured me that one could get a smoked salmon plate and other limited options to go to take back to the room.Being I’m spending 5 nights my expectations are there will be other options weekday mornings or I too would be very disappointed having to hike over to Bellagio to dine

Aria is closer than Bellagio if you need to leave the property, I think, by quite a bit. The trams between Park MGM, Aria and Bellagio/Vdara aren't running.

All I know is what was open the morning I was there was a coffee stand outside Zen Kitchen, and it as coffee, pastry, smoothies, instant oatmeal and the like. It's possible they've opened more, I guess.

Cosmo has some decent breakfast options like Eggslut... and if you're really going to hoof it, Mon Ami Gabi would have a fine view outdoors into the Bellagio fountains.

Think the rating is lower than what it is because of pricing and those that preferred the lower prices and bigger portions

Appreciate the tip.Not a fan of Aria Cafe expensive and just ok

Aria Cafe is no more, Din Tai Fung is now using the space that Aria Cafe used to use. The new "cafe" for Aria is now Salt & Ivy which is where Herringbone used to be on the 2nd floor.

Stay Report - 4/9 to 4/11
Location: The hotel is located at the Aria Complex which as I've long felt is in a weird dead zone in Las Vegas. The area between New York, New York and Caesars feels very strange. Across LV Blvd is a huge cluster of strip mall type shops and fast food restaurants. On the good news department there's a 24 Hour CVS right next door. There used to be a Starbucks and a burger place next door as well but they're currently closed. The good news is that while Las Vegas in generally crowded right now and not always with the kind of people you might not want to be around, the hotel is set back from the strip and has no casino so it's very quiet and exclusive.
Hotel: The hotel itself was the Mandarin Oriental and I believe opened in 2009. It looks very nice from the outside as well as the inside. The entrance is at ground level and their valet and concierge are located here. There are a restaurant and a cafe on the 3rd floor and this is also a transfer point to the guest elevators. The pool, spa and fitness center are on the 8th floor. They are all open though the fitness center and spa keep weird hours so it's best to check ahead of time. Check in and the bar are on the 27th floor.
Guest floor areas look very nice

Check In: Excellent service at check in and by everyone else associated with the hotel. I was thanked for being Diamond, given two waters, all the property info I needed and generally treated as one should be at a luxury hotel.
Room: Very nice. About what I've experienced at Asian Conrads. I find it rare I get a true luxury room in the US but this time I felt the hotel delivered. The bed was large and comfortable and the TV also large. There was a work area and desk which I appreciate and an absolutely beautiful bathroom. There is also daily maid service.
Closet areas
Dining: As a Diamond I got a $25 daily property credit. There's a restaurant and cafe on the 3rd floor. The sit down part is by reservations only. I just got grab and go. Do note the restaurants are not open weekdays right now.
Overall, an excellent stay. A rare time I truly have zero complaints.

Your room looked a lot larger (more spacious, more floor space) than the standard room we received on our last stay. I'm also wondering if you got an upgrade.
Was the $25 Diamond benefit per person or per room? And it did not have to be used for breakfast?

I see above that points stay doesn't incur resort fees, is this true with free night award certificate being diamond member? I guess if true this is better use than Hyatt certificate in Vegas which seems to incur resort fees on every property on strip.

I'm not sure as to the first part of your question as I was solo and I didn't ask. It did not have to be used for breakfast though.

Stayed here a few days ago. Was able to eat in Zen Kitchen for breakfast without a reservation. It was about 2/3 full when I got there. There was a also full breakfast menu available. Same $25 daily credit that could be used towards breakfast.
