I've had it since just about the beginning.

FWIW I have been a LT diamond since 2011 or 2012 if my memory is correct. Regardless of the LT status, I know I have exceeded the requirements every year including the covid period since 1998. I have no clue how many nights I have actually stayed but guessing at least 2500 plus. Alas, it doesn't seem to mean too much at Hilton anymore.

There is a huge thread here on Lifetime Diamond. I am one...earned by the 2 million points, and 90+ % on my dime.

LT for about 5 years now, perversely stay with Hilton about 20% of the time and am top tier with IHG. Try to keep points balanced so I have a choice on leisure trips. LT Diamond makes little difference I find. Bets service is in hotels where I frequent.

I made LTD at the beginning of the year. Had an exceptional upgrade in Germany on a long stay during which I qualified on like day 4 of the stay. Messaging the manager prior to arrival was successfully self-serving. Was presented nice "welcome" gifts on the day I crossed the marker for LTD. I don't know if a stateside hotel would have been so generous. Also received a better upgrade at Hilton FRA without pre-notification (and one I never received as a Diamond). My experience in Europe has always been that I've felt like I've received better treatment. Won't be back at these properties until later this year, and will hope for similar treatment.

I hit Lifetime Diamond a month ago. No mention of it when I've checked into two different Hilton properties since then, but I did get an upgrade to a giant suite at the Hilton in Des Moines (a great property, with nice common areas, good food and a really nice gym).
No email or letter from Hilton--do they send anything like a welcome letter or card? Marriott sent me a hefty metal BonVoy card when I hit titanium with them, which was nice. |

No mention of LT status at check-in seems to be because they don't know. I've had this conversation several times (as recently as Friday with a very seasoned and knowledgeable agent) now with front desk agents and that all have said it only shows diamond status on the res when they pull it up. No indicator of LT. Seems like a major oversite. How can managers prioritize upgrades (if they want to) or whatever if they cant differentiate? |

The in-room auto TV thing has been greeting me at properties that do that as a (nonspecific) Diamond. I've had one or two properties mention it but that is far from the norm. |

I don't think there's supposed to be a differentiation -- LT Diamond as currently implemented is just Diamond without requalification requirements.

Hilton IT needs to update/fix the auto-reply chat script... It says LTD requires 1,000 paid or reward stays... should mean nights.

I don't think that's correct, there is a differentiation in the automated upgrades 72 hours before check-in at the very least, and I suspect it is also incorrect to state that front desk agents do not see the difference between D and LTD (sorry not your quote, but the poster before you). While it might be true at the specific property(ies) that the OP was mentioning perhaps they had a different system, but there are several posters in this thread who mentioned being greeted as LTD so I doubt think that's a deficiency spread to all Hilton properties otherwise nobody would ever be greeted as LTD because agents would simply not know?
My front desk comment was based on my experience.YMMV. I've checked in at 22 different properties since I qualified LT, and it hasn't been mentioned once. All of these have been in the US and its been of mix of brands (Hampton, Tru, HGI, HIlton, DT, Curio, Tapestry). Nearly all have welcomed me as a diamond. I inquired about it to several front desk people (6 or 7) and they all say they can't see it. Perhaps its different in Europe (I'll find out over the holidays) or in Asia. I don't know. |
I have definitely been greeted as a Lifetime Diamond when checking in. Not always, but enough to know they can see it. Maybe those agents that say they can't see it just don't know where to look.

Not an LTD personally but a good friend is and they've had some pretty stonking upgrades in Europe and Asia at LTD with it specifically being flagged at check-in.
