I am still keen on hearing about reports of people who in their experience, see better upgrades as LTD vs regular Diamond from time to time (maybe even with comment from hotel manager to that effect), or others who in their experience see no difference whatsoever in the upgrades.

I'm in the "generally see no difference" category however, for about 66% of my stays from the turn of the year I've received a notification about a week before check-in that I've been upgraded -- including @ HGI & HIS where upgrades aren't officially a thing -- then able to choose the specific upgraded room through the app during checkin

I’m just amazed that you managed to email only 7 days from LTD!!

I was keeping track, and pinged Hilton every now and then to be sure the numbers were correct!

:D

No difference for me at all (I am not complaining as I know that it's just a Diamond status without the need to requalify).

Limited experience so far but I have seen a tangible difference in upgrades as a LTD.

My experience has also been rather limited lately. I became a LTD 5 years ago and 2 years later Covid stopped all travel and then when the world was reopening the war halted travel. I got top suites earlier this year at 2 hotels, but I am not sure whether it was due to the LTD status as it was never mentioned.

I'd guess the perception depends upon one's experience as a 'regular' Diamond. Mine was very very good, while I read that some members here rarely receive good upgrades. But whether I receive an upgrade to an Executive room or something nicer I still consider that I got it as a Diamond member rather than a LTD member unless the hotel tells me otherwise.

I got a mention of the LTD status a few times only in the 5 years. One was a strange one - I was monitoring available rooms on the morning of arrival to Istanbul Hilton hoping that something nice would be pre-assigned to me. When I arrived at the hotel there was nothing to upgrade me to, but the Front Desk Manager told me that I was their top guest that night according to the list of arrivals he had. I asked why was an upgraded room not pre-assigned to me if I really was at the top of the list (I was - he showed me the list) but he could not answer that. I also discussed the fact that I am a returning guest there, and he said that he did not know that as nobody looks at that info, which really surprised me since I had spent a lot of money at the hotel over the years. As far as he was concerned, it was my first time at the hotel. At least, it did confirm that LTDs are seen with higher statuses but then it is up to the hotel what to do with that information. Officially they are not required to do anything.

Just crossed over 10 years last week- confirmed with hilton cs- but the app and website doesn't seem to have noticed :) Any insights/ experiences on how long it takes for the status to reflect ? much thanks!

You might get in touch with Hilton Honors Ambassador William to see if he can help.

Anecdotal evidence in this thread says it can take up to 3 months to be reflected. I remember someone saying that a rep from Hilton has to review the member’s history manually and issue the status change and gift manually.

Back in 2018, I received an e-mail confirming that I met the qualification requirements in mid-February saying that the status will be reflected during the requalification process in March. I then received a second e-mail in the 3rd week of March welcoming me to LTD.

Just so you are aware, I can't speed the process up. But, congratulations to @gogooo.

Best regards,

I just recently qualified (early Feb) - and it was reflected in the app and online within a few days. I have not received any emails or other correspondance regarding the change, and am eagerly awaiting whatever might be sent in recognizing the new status. Note: at least at a couple of properties in Europe, I have noticed a difference in upgrades since becoming LTD, which is a very nice suprise.

You also need 1,000 paid nights. Do you know if you meet that criteria?
