1. Can some of the 10 years diamond requirement be met with status received as a credit card benefit?
2. Is there a way to find out my total nights and base points?

Thanks in advance!

1. Any diamond year counts
2 Need to email them/

I emailed them in March 2022 in reference to this. I had my info in about 36 hours. I also reached out to them again in September for an update (after a lot of stayed nights) and was provided with one.

I hope they add lifetime diamond progress on the home page soon. I imagine at some point they are going to get tired of answering this question.

As I remember, I called Customer Support shortly after the Lifetime program was announced back in 2017 (and several times since) and got my program-to-date info that way.

Each time I called I asked when will LT Diamond progress info be added to the website, and every time I was given words to the effect of "soon". Probably should poke them with a statement like "If Marriott can do it, why can't Hilton???"

And while they are at it, I wish they would add a Lifetime Gold level. I know, I know ... there many ways to get Gold effectively for free (e.g., hold the right credit card). But I think Hilton should offer it based on nights and number of years of status ... like Marriott does.

I don't stay with Marriott that often, but did notice that lifetime progress is available on their app. Maybe we should gently remind them during these inquiries that Marriott figured it out...lol.

I use the diamond email normally. What’s this one, and is it better for general support?

Thank you for your perspective. From my experience, being nice AND having top tier status is what helps the most especially at brands such as Fairmont since you mention it. One or the other (status or being nice) is ok but both works the best at the most properties, that said it's not always the case everywhere of course.

I guess for you the choice is different as you are already Hilton LTD. For me the issue is whether I should stay at a non-Hilton and possibly get a better upgrade than the Hilton hotel, or "suck it up" and stay at the Hilton hotel as a regular Diamond because I want to speed up my progress to LTD. So far I am mostly doing the former which means my progress to Hilton LTD is slower than what it could be, but I obviously it's in my best interest to keep my ears open if I need to alter course.

My two cents from your posts that I read is that there is no need for you to speed up HH stays. I have had LT status for years. I don't see a difference other than I don't have to stay - nor do I these days, in hotels 60+ days a year, and I keep the same benefits. Only once can I recall a front desk agent mention that I am LTD. That said, I have zero complaints for rooms I have received. The key IMHO is to be nice to the person checking you in and do not expect anything from them other than to be nice back to you and give you the room you booked. My room assignments for vacations have more often than not been upgrades (many significant) from what I booked - predates becoming LTD.

Only reason I want LTD is because it's occasionally a hassle to maintain Diamond (aussie, no cards here). We get it on base points as hotels are much more $ at a lower level hotel, and fewer simple/cheaper brands. LTD should come next year though.

Agree. I've been LTD since the beginning and I continue to wonder why there seems to be some expectation of different benefits when no such thing exists. As noted before, I far more frequently receive added goodies when the FD agent notices my point balance. Not supposed to be the way the program works, but is often the case IRL.

When i wrote to Hilton about my Lifetime Diamond progress they suggested I use that email address in future.

Unrelated to lifetime diamond, but I recently had an issue with points earning on a stay that the diamond desk was completely unhelpful with, as was our FT lurker. The hotel recommended I try that e-mail address, and it was corrected to my satisfaction.

I share similar unsolicited experiences on being recognized more often on points balance at check in than LT status.

How high of a points balanced earns such spontaneous "awesome" recognition?

My points balance has been ranging from 1-4m since at least 2014 I think, and I occasionally have comments about it but only 2-3 times per year, no more. So perhaps 5m+ would be required for such recognition? I don't think it's much of a factor personally.

Ditto both in average point balance (never dropping below 1m, rarely above 2m) and frequency of someone making a comment... usually with a "you must really need to take a vacation..." type comment. I don't get the impression the average FDA cares (nor should they; IMO, I find it a bit awkward, particularly if the lobby is crowded but at least they aren't commenting on my checking account balance or other financial figures). As with many other things properties outside CONUS seem to be more likely to make observations.

I never gotten the impression that it has had any effect on anything other than friendly chat/"yes, we know who you are"
