You might have arrived at the hotel too late for lounge check-in, but during a stay for any service-related issue I always talk to lounge staff (instead of reception), anywhere in the world. In the lounge not only service tends to be better, but language skills are less of an issue as well. So theoretically if receptionists do not speak appropriate English at Conrad Seoul these days, the only time it could be an issue is for late arrivals when there is no other option.

Sorry for this newbie question (only just diamond) and I've never heard of lounge check-in.
Does this mean that as a diamond instead of going to the reception for check-in you just head to the lounge?

At many hotels, yes. Sometimes if you go to reception, when they see you are Diamond they will then escort you to the lounge for check-in rather than process your check-in themselves at reception.

You can always politely decline and check in on the lobby level. Often times I'm tired from traveling and don't need the pomp and circumstance of a EL check in and want to go to the room straight away.

Thanks, good to know.

Will be at the Conrad Seoul for 1 night before flying back to LAX.

Sounds like a nice hotel but with a very busy lounge?

Wondering if there will be a suite upgrade as a Diamond? Since it's a points stay, I am booked into a 1 KING BED DELUXE ROOM - CITY/RIVER VIEW so may be the "upgrade" will be a better view on a high floor? Let's see what will happen.

hi, i have stayed at conrad seoul many times with diamonds, there is a very high probability that you will not be given a suite and will be assigned a river view on a high floor river view.

I'll be here for 4 nights in early June and am fully counting on NOT getting a suite upgrade. I am fine with that though.

I second that. From my experience ~1 year ago, as a Diamond, I was hoping to check out the Conrad Suite or Grand King Corner Suite (both were showing as available in the app via cash booking) but after a bunch of back n forth, the best they were willing to give me was a King Executive Riverview Lounge Access room on the highest guest level floor (36). FYI - the exec lounge is on 37. The guy went to the back office to supposedly speak to his manager (doubt it...) and kept denying me. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick replies, and you all confirmed my suspicions! No suite upgrade, only views and high floor upgrade.

As a Diamond, I already have access to the Lounge.

I'm there 4 nights probably same time period. I actually don't want a suite because I'm staying with my parents and brother and they'll all congregate in the largest room. LOL. But after 3 days, they move to Lotte Signiel and I will stay one more day and I'm ask for a suite then. It's a Monday night stay so I'm hoping my chances are good, especially after putting 9 nights (3 rooms 3 days).

Hi, i have hilton gold status and am staying in conrad seoul sometime in september/octobe for 2 people. What room what i need to stay to possibly have upgrade to King grand suite or executive suite? Would Premium Room, 2 queen Beds, corner be enough for that upgrade? Also as i would be booking through amex travel with FHR, would this make a difference? Lastly, as hilton gold status member, the fhr daile breakfast for 2 credit, and gold status daily breakfast can be combined? is the max 60? Thanks.

If you want a suite, book the suite. Upgrades for Diamonds are rare at this property, so as a gold, the likelihood is close to zero.

And the weird dollar amount credit for breakfast/dining is North America only. You're entitled to continental breakfast for up to 2, although in practice, you'll probably get the full buffet.

I’m going to be staying here for a rather quick layover ((17 hours) from 9PM to 2PM) and I also have to get to and from ICN.

Any recommendations on things to do around the hotel? This will be my first time visiting Korea.

You can go by the water (Yeouido Hangang Park) or hit up places like The Hyundai Seoul 더현대 서울 (dept store, basically a fancy mall with a lot of stores / food options) and Daiso (super affordable home goods store).
