No problem with this last weekend at the Hilton Dulles Airport. The only charges on my bill were for the room and taxes. It was Net Direct rate and balance due was listed as 0. All points due me, including the 500 point VISA bonus, posted correctly. We are there again tonight on a Net Direct rate. We'll see if things go smoothly.

Missing Points on Hilton AMEX - 3 points instead of 5

Do y'all check your Hilton AMEX point postings closely? Every single month I have to call them and point out a charge at a Hilton property that should have gotten 5 points per dollar but only got 3. Does anyone else have the same problem?

It seems they are fine with the name "Hilton" in the name of the property: Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, etc. post properly. But Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, etc.... only 3 points per dollar.

What a PITA.

.

Just happened to me, stayed at a HGI that didn't have hilton in the charge name. I had to call and they said they would send me a letter with a decision. A friggin letter? This is cut and DRY!

I just checked my bill and the Homewood Suites charge was at only 3 points per dollar based on the number of points it shows as earned for the period. Now I will have to go back and check previous periods to see if there are any corrections that need to be made before I contact AMEX.

I had that problem with a Doubletree stay, but a phone call straightened it out.

I've always had Hilton Family stays post at 5 points per dollar ever since they started giving 5 points a few years ago. Never a problem (about 6 times a year). Even for incidentals on award stays.

Posting time for points?

I have completed my two stays for the bonus promo I received, and the stays have posted with the normal points.

My question is, when will the bonus points post?

Remember, when you stay twice at a U.S. Hilton hotel and book online at hilton.com between February 16 and April 30, 2005, you can earn up to 2,500 Hilton HHonors bonus points.

Points Posting problems- HELP!

Recently, switched from a Marriott regular to using Hilton properties far more often. Now, having some real werid problems, and sure could use some help!

Six night stay at Embassy Suites, Atlanta shows up in my "recent hotel stays" list, with my folio accessible, but NOT in my points. This is critical since (with a $5000 catering charge) this stay moves me from Silver to Diamond! That is, assuming charges (put a big reception on my room bill) count as base points. If not, the nights move me to Gold.

Wrote email to hilton customer service with no response after 3 days.

Called...the agent couldn't "see" the ES stay and asked me to fax the folio. Is this weird, since it so clearly shows on my home page?

Is there something more I can do? Have another stay coming up at Hilton Austin, and sure would like to try my first as a Diamond....despite the less-than-encouraging postings about the minimal US Diamond benefits.

All suggestions quite welcome!!!

When did you fax the folio? I've found they usually post within three working days when I do that.

BTW, this Diamond has no issues with benefits in the US. Check-in last night at a full Cincinnati property and given a junior suite that is 700+ square feet without asking.

Well, I've got a week before the trip to Austin.

1-Will all those charges count as base points, even the $5K catering?

2-Will the change to Diamond status happen as soon as they do? Or, will I be able to print out the points this 12 month period and, at least, bring it as 'proof'?

thanks

Give them all the details and you should get a quick response.

Time for Points to Post from Hilton Canada

I recently stayed at a Hilton in Montreal and was curious if the time for points to post from a Canadian Hilton take longer than a domestic US Hilton. I stayed at the hotel the weekend of June 30th - July 4th. Any thoughts on the time period for the points posting would be fantastic! Thanks.

I haven't stayed recently I'm currently esconced in a BW in Montreal :(
but past experience of Hiltons in Toronto Montreal & St John has shown the points posting within a week

tcook052 Jul 15, 2005 8:08 pm

Yeah, same here with recent HGI in YYC, less than a week.

HepperSchepp Jul 15, 2005 8:14 pm
