Maniac,
You could possibly earn more on the car(s) by renting National or Thrifty, getting points from HHonors at the hotel and miles from the partner airline. And there are differences between how the partners in these programs, not just HHonors, work. For example, if you plan to exchange points to miles, AA does 1:1, while most airlines do 1 mile to 2 points. Here is a link to my opinion on what are the best car and double dip opportunities for maximum points after converting miles or km to points. Remember that 1 km = 1.6 miles. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/005327.html |
one more thing -
It can be easy to forget what I consider the cardinal rule: CASH is better than points or miles any day. If you have a choice between paying $50 a day for a car at National, but Enterprise (no points or miles) will rent the same car to you for $25, you've just got to take the money. I think our (my) fixation on points and miles can sometimes be distracting from the real bargains -- cash in pocket! [This message has been edited by Rut Dog (edited 09-14-2002).] |
Avg. Time to Post to Account?
How long should I usually wait for a stay to post to my account if I just checked out on this past Sunday?
SG |
swimtrip,
I have found that Hampton's are about 3 days, Embassy Suites normally take longer as do Hiltons. Usually post within 1 week. |

Time to post points for stays
How long does it take to post points for stays at Hilton?

My stays usually post within a week. Never had any problems missing stays or points.
