Found out after speaking with a Diamond Honors rep that when you get upgraded to a suite, that has adjoining rooms, and seperate room numbers, that when the property reports your stay to Honors their computer cannot give credit for two rooms on the same night and kicks everything out. The same thing happens when you reserve and pay for two seperate rooms on the same night. They said you have to wait till you see that stay on your "hotel Summarys" page on Hilton.com and then call in and they will manually fix it:rolleyes:

Yep, this bit me recently; was upgraded to adjoining rooms (a parlor, and a king room), and I used the minibar in the bedroom, but the parlor actually incurred the nightly rate. My points posted, and I saw I got ~40 points for a week stay (i.e. just the minibar charges), and my heart sank. A quick call to the diamond desk cleared it up - the rep said it's an easy fix, as she just had to switch which room the points post for.

Hilton Amex Missing Points

Has an yone had a problem with missing points recently on the Hilton Amex ?

Spent about $2300 this month and the gave me 3448 points

Since the minimum is 3 points per dollar obviously something is wrong

On hold with Amex now

flyer4512 Dec 7, 2009 3:54 pm

Ok they are saying the 3448 are bonus points (purchases the qualify for more than 3 points) and that the regualr purchases (3 points) have no posted yet.

This is still strange as I have never seen them post seperate before.

I will check back over the next couple of days and see if it updates.

Has anyone else had this experience ?

Today they posted the double miles Oct. / Nov bonus points = double points after your monthly threshold spend - promotion points ! You should see a deposit of points between 11/27 and 12/3 ( depending on your statement close date ) and then these bonus points for the October / November promotion !

Thanks

Ok now I remember the promotion they had for spending over a certain amount in Oct/Nov

Thanks

In my case, as I recall the promo was to get double points (an extra 3 points) on all purchases going over $4000 for each month (Oct and Nov). In Oct I went over $4000. In November I exceeded $10000. The bonus points that posted are 9724 which is far below what I had expected to post -- assuming it would be at lesat $6000 x 3. Is my math or my memory bad? Or is their point accounting bad?

From info in a different thread, I think they may be posting October and November separate. Does the 9724 equal your extra spend for October($3241 above 4k)? Also, I believe it is based on the actual month timeframe, not your statement totals for that month.

Actually you're right, I was at 7241 on that date range -- when sorted by date on Amex.com. Thanks!

I believe it was for going over $1500 in a month. I never go over $3k so I wouldn;t have got any bonus.

The regular months miles are late posting though this month

Talked to AMEX about this today...

While the assumption is that we should get 3 extra points for each dollar over the specified amount (which varies quite a bit), there are two variables that also apparently come into play:
1) The bonus only starts on the day you registered (which in my case was about two weeks into October), even though notification about the promotion didn't happen until about three weeks after the start of my October billing cycle.
2) The bonus apparently is based on calendar October/November spend, rather than on the total of your October and November billing cycles.
You may want to call AMEX to sort it out.

Missing points

I just noticed a closed called "Nancy stole my Points". Last Oct. I checked my balanced and had a deduction or either 30 or 40K points for an award reservation. There was no documentation as to what it was for so I called HH. A nice lady told me it was for a hotel in Orlando. She told me the name of the gent which I did not recognize or course. She put me on hold and came back and let me know she was putting the points back. I asked if I should change my username password etc. and she laughed and said it happens. Someone could have just typed in a wrong digit in reservation. I am not convinced! Along with all of the other changes to HH I think it is better to cash out.

Keyser Feb 10, 2010 12:51 am

very strange....normally when i try to make a reward reservation the agent grills me on a number of questions before i can go ahead, just to make sure i am indeed the account holder....

UApsgr Feb 10, 2010 1:17 am

Same here, it seems like a foolproof system. I did read that something can happen when you make or cancel a reservation and the agent does not log out. The lady I talked to said someone could type in a wrong digit and be in my account. The strange thing is that I could only see the points taken not the hotel, dates or name of person.

They ask a million questions, however they run on 2 different systems. The system they book the reservation on, and a system to book the reward on. If they don't look from one system to another then a mistake could be made on the agents side, its not from someone hacking into your account.

I just stayed at 2 different Hiltons. Both booked with 2 separate rooms on the same nights.
For the first property the stay and nights posted.
For the second property it didn't, although it's appearing on the "hotel summary"

Is there a period I can expect this to be fixed by itself (it was 3 weeks ago) or there is now no other choice but to call for a manual fix?

Thanks in advance,

GBM
