point stretcher dates
So far they have always been at the last minute, i.e., December for January to June period, and June for July to December period.
Not sure why they cannot get them out sooner, but they don't seem inclined to do so.

If I was GM of a HHonors property having revenue problems, and I declared us open for point stretcher in January and February, I'd be so frustrated with the late posting. After all, what's the point in running the "special" if nobody can find out about it.
For that matter, even if they aren't posted on the website, does the 800 number possibly have the dates sooner? What if you call the property direct -- might they know?

The 800 number doesn't have the dates early.
I haven't tried phoning individual properties. Even if you could get the dates from the property, I doubt the reservations people would book a Point Stretcher stay for you, since they wouldn't be able to confirm the dates on their system. (Presumably the properties have 2 deadline dates a year to get their point Stretcher dates submitted, since HHonors posts them 6 months at a time.)
I'm not sure I've ever read the rationale for point stretchers. I agree that the obvious one, to soak up unused inventory, doesn't seem to jive with the poor execution of the program. It's like they are saying, "Here's a program we'd like you to use, but we're going to make it as difficult as possible for you to do so. I imagine that January and July point stretcher dates are rarely used, given the short lead times.

When do January dates post for stretcher awards?
I have been checking out some stretcher awards on the Hilton site. They only list Oct, Nov, Dec. No January or any dates for next year. Any ideas when these will show up?
