Check out Blazin' Steaks for a steak plate lunch! :-)
Or The Steak Shack. Tough to find if you don't know where it is, but it is awesome. Plate lunch on the beach, doesn't get much better than that.

Meh..... I hated the fact that he went on Triple D and let everyone know about his place. But that's just me... LOL.

Before he went on the show, it was a nice, mellow, local crowd....could always find a place to sit....and no huge lines.

After he went on the show....that place went nuts....to the point we stopped eating there.

Rainbow, Murphy's, Hanks, and several other places are the same way now..... They hit Bourdain or Triple D and every damn tourist in the world has to eat there so they can brag that they were there when they were out here...

Kind of like what has happened to the KCC Farmer's Market. Way too overcrowded with tourists. Love/hate relationship.

Yeap....and a dozen other places out here.

Nothing like trying to get malasado's for work.....and watching the tour bus pull up just as you do. SMH....

BRONZE — Morton’s the Steakhouse, 1450 Ala Moana Blvd., Honolulu
FINALIST — BLT Steak, 223 Saratoga Road, Honolulu
FINALIST — DK Steakhouse, 2552 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu

Mary is spot on ^

the more casual the better. I don't mind paying a little for it but not Morton's type prices for two kids who just want to woof it down and go back to the beach

We hit Outback here at home on Friday and Saturday so that tells you what we are looking for

My youngest wants to go to Outback Hawaii.. I said, I hope we can do better LOL

What is this Steak Shack place?

Steak Shack is delicious but a very casual, plate lunch kind of place - not a sit down place - right on the beach. It is only open until 7pm so lunch or an early dinner. Grab a plate and head to the beach, which is literally steps away. But cheap and yummy.

It can be kind of tricky to find but if you go to the corner of Kalia Rd and Saratoga (Trump Tower is right there), there is a paved path leading to the beach bordering Fort DeRussy. Walk down the path all the way to the beach (you will pass a Subway) and it is in the group of stores and cafes on your left.

I'll repeat advice from a few days ago. Chuck's Waikiki. Not pretentious at all, a decent steak, fantastic location.

Never had their steaks, but both the Seafood Village (basement of Hyatt Regency) and Dukes have steaks in the $25 plus or minus a few buck range. Always had good meals at both restaurants. As noted above Blazin Steaks catty cornered Diamond head side behind the Hyatt Regency has a good sliced steak plate lunch all day. Similar plate is at the Food Pantry on Kuhio. (Just noticed it is called Hi Steaks!)

So what would make a good anniversary dinner restaurant in Waikiki? Will be staying at HHV but will have a car too. Looking for good food (seafood & steaks type) with nice ambiance and good service. A view would be great but not mandatory. Looking to stay under $50 per entree. No chain restaurants please. I can get those all here in L.A.
