Great info here, thanks for putting it together. I booked OGG-HNL-LAX 2 weeks ago on HA4 for 11/20 - high probability route. Now I see that OGG-LAX direct will be the new lie flat by then guaranteed, and it's $30 cheaper than I paid. Should've waited to book!

Of course... all of this is dependent on the planes coming out of the modification on schedule. I just found the dates based on the seatmaps, it seems flight 4 is pretty consistently lie flat.

I'm contemplating buying F tix between JFK-HNL for April 2018. Currently the HA website shows the old recliner seats on flights between those two cities. Will I be guaranteed lie flats by then? This is a special occasion big splurge and I really would only pull the trigger if it was lie-flat!

Yes. Have you happened to look at the Wiki above? The Wiki has all the information you desire.

You're not *guaranteed* lie-flats unless your seats are sold as such. That said, as the Wiki says all planes are scheduled to be completed by February, so your chances of getting lie-flats are extremely high. However, there's always the remote possibility that something could go wrong that would delay the conversions.

OAK no longer appears to be high priority. I removed it from the wiki.

OAK-OGG/LIH are already announced 321, if KOA returns I would imagine it will be as well. HNL however, could likely remain 330.

Looks like 375 is finished, although it had an engine fire on landing during its PAE->SEA ferry flight.

There's some videos taken by passengers floating around, and from HA twitter:
UPDATE: An A330 ferry flight from PAE to SEA experienced a left engine issue on final approach at SEA tonight. A left engine fire reported upon landing was extinguished. There were no passengers onboard, and the two pilots were unharmed. The aircraft is currently being inspected.

Thanks for the update. 383 is the next aircraft that will be converted and has arrived at Everett. I have edited the wiki.

HNL-OAK on 03-22-18

Hi-

I'm on HA 332 from HNL-OAK on 03-22-18, seat map showed old configuration when booking but it sounds like all conversions will be done by my flight.

Thanks for keeping this wiki up to date.

Does anyone happen to know if there is any compensation provided when a non-lie flat plane is substituted on a “guaranteed” route? A co-worker flew to Haneda earlier this month in paid Business Class from/to Kona and in both directions she got a non-converted plane.

Incheon....

YAY....finally, Incheon looks like dedicated aircraft with the retrofit. Its been a while coming and actually a few days earlier than this thread suggested. So happy to get some sleep.

The term "guaranteed" probably shouldn't have been used here. HA doesn't guarantee lie flat seats but sells the market as such. With all things at an airline, logistics can get in the way and what was expected may not happen. From what I understand, every effort is made to prevent a lie flat route from seeing the old recliners. There was a little bit of schedule disruption when a/c 375 had its engine issue last week, I suspect there were some knock on effects by that. This situation can also be similar to when a 767 substitutes for a 330 or vice versa.

I'm not sure what the official policy is in your colleagues situation, but it can't hurt to contact consumer affairs and ask.
