Not at all. I only used FC to get Diamond status the first year and earned it legit after that. For a "dubious status" that you yourself use, you seem to like to brag about what you got from it. The fact that you don't use diamond lounges or those "second tier" tickets is pretty much irrelevant. The poster asked a question and requested opinions. I responded with an answer to his question and some additional information about the tickets that he mentioned. Then the next day you gave your opinion. Then you came back and basically repeated the same thing to me on my post.
Stating that the ONLY reason a local would get Diamond status would be that dubious status is pretty much blind to the fact that some of us do like the lounges and those second tier tickets.
So yeah, pretty much "Yeah, whatever"

You "earned" your real Diamond status, congratulations I guess. I paid for it, but for specific reasons that had nothing to do with the status. We stay enough days that the waived resort fees more than make up for the cost of the card , if they did away with that perk, I would not renew the FC. We do take in the shows, but there was probably only one that I'd really pay for.
What is the attraction of the lounges? Hot, noisy, and crowded with crappy food. No thanks, but if it's your thing, enjoy.
Chasing comps, points or status in a casino is not a smart move.

Got the FC and am trying to book multiple rooms for the same period at different CET properties (an additional room for my parents), but the CET website detects this and does not waive the resort fees for the 2nd room. I have read that a 'work-around' is to call to book the 2nd room via a telephone representative - and to have the resort fees waived that way. Can anyone confirm this 'work-around'? I'm needing these resort fees to be waived to make the FC worth it =) Thanks!

I think in many cases, the same can be said about chasing hotel or airline status but if it makes folks happy I have no problem with folks doing whatever they want

Can't speak for others, but my gambling losses last year were $177.00. Less than the $295 FC would charge me.
Agree that waived resort fees is a strong perk. I also like the free upgrades.
I get there early or generally don't bother (in Vegas). I was more impressed with them until I went to Harrah's in New Orleans this year. Wish Vegas was more like them.

We have been to a couple of non-smoking CET casinos and much more enjoyed the experience. We may be trying out New Orleans later this summer, as it's a non smoking casino.
Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on the evil empire.

Hello all. I'm definitely late to the party on acquiring a Founders Card specifically for the Total Rewards Diamond benefits. With the 2018 changes to Diamond, and no longer getting free access to Diamond Lounges -- I'm kind of on the fence about going for the Founders Card.
I do have the Total Rewards Visa card that I use monthly for business expenses, so I build up a fair amount of Reward Credits via purchases made... which would give me plenty enough RC's to use for entry to the Lounges. My question on this is... if you're paying $10 in Reward Credits for access to the lounges, does that only cover yourself - or would the entry fee cover you and a guest?
Just an extra bit of context... I actually live in Vegas, so for the most part the free resort fees wouldn't be that much of a value benefit for me. The value benefits I can see from a local perspective would be the Diamond Lounge access, 2 free show tickets per month, and the $100 yearly dinner credit. There are certainly other benefits like jumping to the Top of the line if you're a poker player and playing poker at a Caesars property, as well as other line jump perks. (free parking as well, but I already have that from the TR Visa)
Just looking for some input on whether you guys think FC is worth it for a Vegas local now given the new 2018 changes. And if you guys have the good Founders Card Referral code for waived signup fee and $249 per year, shoot it on over in your reply.
Thanks in advance guys!

Do you travel ? Do you see yourself visiting other CET locations throughout the U.S and Canada within the next year?
The comp'd rooms and waived resort fees has given me more of an easy way to travel around and stay at CET properties for zero cost. This along with a minimum 5 night stay in Vegas annually easily made up for the initial cost of the founderscard for me.
I use to live 1 hour away from a CET location and would drive and stay over a long weekend thanks to comp +waived fees.
For a Vegas local, I would still stay at CET hotels over the weekends and walk the strip and gamble and see shows without having to drive around. If you have friends visiting Vegas often than having Diamond would also be nice for yourself and your friends. Cutting in line at CET /buffets/Starbucks/restaurants is nice too. Comp'd rooms and no fees is hard to beat.
If you don't plan on actually staying at the hotels then i wouldn't bother with Diamond as a local.

$177 to make Diamond at CET is great. We are not big gamblers so FC was made for a couple like us. We can't take the smoke filled casino environment and just don't put in time at gambling. We do like eating and watching shows though, so FC, along with the TR Visa, allows us to have the best of both worlds without having to suck down a lung full of smoke to get there.

That is hard to answer.

Rooms won't necessarily be comped for a Diamond if the person doesn't gamble.
The line jumping perk is nice. Esp when it's a long line full of tourists at GR Burger @pho.

LOVE the non-smoking of New Orleans. And their lounge is great and IMO worth the entry. Only downsides are that the room is small (I usually got there 15-20 minutes early or there may be a long wait) and you only get 4 drink coupons as a Diamond. You can bring your own drinks inside (and are as easy as ordering from a slot machine even before gambling with just your TR card in the machine). Food was plentiful and kept stocked, even on prime rib night, and served the entire time the club was open. I can't speak to the rooms as I was there for a conference and stayed at a Hilton.

We ate there last year when we were passing by, there was no line and we were hungry. We were both not awed by the experience, it was expensive and just another burger. You're paying for the name and location. Maybe getting a picture with the flames to put on facebook is worth something, but not to us.

See, I like it a lot, and went there for my third time last trip. It's not that much more expensive than a Ruby Tuesday or other casual restaurant that sells burgers, and definitely a better burger and fries. So I can live with that price in Vegas. However, I did go to the pub at Caesars for the first time and gotta say I like the vibe there better. Not to mention the Shepherd's Pie was friggin' delicious. I always like to switch it up, but I would get that at least one more time before I move on, haha.
Ramsay did get us hooked on the sticky toffee pudding though, we've gone into the bar at GR Steak and split it I don't know how many times.

BTW, it is called the Palm Room there and not the Diamond Lounge.
