If you are wiling to spend, why not stay true to the thread title and get a founder's card? Much easier than gambling to get it. The redeemable points you would get are not worth it - if the price is really $295 and you get all the other perks, the only reason to go for it with gambling is if that is fun for you (assuming you are comfortable with the risk of loss).

Really I love the benefits and chasing Diamond with Harrah's is an expensive option.

Please note that if you don't gamble much, then you are going to get much less value from obtaining Diamond status as compared to someone who gambles a lot. You will still get an annual $100 dinner voucher and free monthly show tickets (to second tier shows, not Cirque or the like), plus access to Diamond lounges. But those last two lose value if you are not a frequent visitor to CET casinos, which would be a little unusual for a non-gambler. Maybe a Vegas resident? Add all that together, and I could see someone justifying the $295 annual cost, but not by a lot.

Conversely, someone who obtains the status by accumulating 5,000 tier credits in a single day will get free rooms and free play offers for at least 6 months (continuous if you keep playing at a decent level). From personal experience, I was able to parlay a single weekend of play into $1,100 of free play and free rooms in the Octavius tower at Caesars for 4 separate weekend trips. I could have gotten even more value if my scheduled had allowed me to squeeze in more visits before they caught on that I was not playing at all on the successive trips. The frequent gambler will also get more benefit from priority access to cashiers, etc.

Just saying that it is not fair to compare the cost of Diamond through gambling to the cost of Diamond through the FC membership. What you get from each are essentially completely different products.

I don't think you can say someone who does not gamble will not get as much value. Plenty of people go to Vegas or AC and do not gamble and I know some that could use the benefits of being diamond in excess of $295, even in a single weekend. I also know people who are diamond who do not use any of the benefits of being diamond and simply enjoy gambling. It just depends on what benefits they would use, the associated subjective value and the frequency with which they would use them. I know people who would get way more than the $295 and people who would get less but would enjoy the possibility of using the perks enough for it to be worth it to them. To each his own.

For me, it would be an easy decision because in addition to the dining certificate, there is a value to being able to skip lines (you left out the cab line, which is the most important one to me), get me and a guest into certain nightclubs for free and being able to take a guest into the diamond lounge. I did not pay for my status, but can see why someone would want to do that (and know people that do).

As far as your experience, if you are opening up your books, please let us know what your theoretical loss was for your trip (or you can tell us what you were playing, your average bet and length of play and we can figure it out) as well as your actual loss (win). Also, you were on teaser offers, which go down/get eliminated over time. Not sure how many people can get out there weekly but I'd be interested to hear how you managed that because in my experience the system does not work in a way that you can do 4 trips in a month at $1K each in free play without involving a host - and the host would monitor your play.

I think that for someone who wants to be diamond, buying v/s playing can be compared in order to make a financial decision - if you are honest about all of the benefits and costs of each option.

Wanted to repost this earlier question, as it was exactly what I was thinking, and did not see an answer.

Just to clarify, you get all the Diamond perks automatically (ex. vip line, lounge access, dining credit) that are not based on the amount you gamble (ex. weekend rooms, slot dollars)?

Also, does anyone know what the current best offer is? TIA!

I joined through one of the referrals in this thread -- it actually only took about a week to get upgraded to CET Diamond, despite the fact that they extended the terms to 6 weeks. One thing to note though is they did not waive the $95 initiation fee until the 7-day "preview membership" or whatever expired -- at that time they sent an email waiving the fee (I had already paid it)

Anyways, the program itself seems pretty decent and if you try, you can easily earn back the membership fee. It's probably not bad just as a networking group even. I know they have a mixed rep around here, but so far the experience has been pretty pleasant and every benefit I've redeemed has gone smoothly

Pure was always diamond + 1 + any other person with a Caesars room key free and skip the line. Not sure what Omnia is but they do have a 7*/diamond sign front and center.

Chateau (Paris) is diamond + 1 and skip the line

Drais (Cromwell - the regular night club not after hours) is hit and miss based on traffic. In my experience they have always let diamond + 1 skip the line but more often than not they require cover.

Those are the only ones I have tried.
