Elite status has not yet reset

I checked my Frontier profile last night after midnight and noticed that my elite qualifying miles reset but my status did not. It shows I have 0 miles for the year, but I am still 100K with an expiration date of yesterday. I should only be 50K this year. I then went through the ticket purchasing steps to see if The Works is still included, and it is.

I'm definitely not complaining here. If you need to book a ticket and you have elite status that should have expired, I would book the ticket now to see if your status still applies.

Glad you posted this. I noticed the same thing on my account. Let's see how long it lasts. Hopefully for a long time, as we know how funky their website is! Nice little New Years gift!

But…but…but…I had just added “former” to the 100k Frontier under my screen name.

Just when you think you are out, they pull you back in.

Consdiering Frontier has a promo for everything, it's hard to believe they're just going to let us walk away. That said, I suspect we're generally their worst customers, as we pay next to nothing and there's nothing they can sell us.

Very good point. They make nothing off us.

And now someone in corporate is going to read this thread. Chopped off in 3..2..1. Sometimes things should just go unsaid.

You think the people who run Frontier are on top of anything?
Regardless, I'm pretty sure everyone's elite status is going to end on some random day -- probably in the next week -- irrespective of what's said in this forum. Book what you want now. You can cancel it for free if you have the necessary status.

They are. The executive team is actually very good and stay on top of customer issues presented to them quite attentively. To assume they're not watching places like this is silly. Airlines have teams doing such, and I've now used the executive team several times both in email and recently on the phone when they reached out to me.

Frontier doesn't have a great reputation, but their executive team definitely does watch and care.

I can still book the works for free but it tries to charge me $59.99 plus $40 for the discount den, which expired yesterday. I sent a DM via twitter to Frontier customer service on 12/30/22 asking for my DD to be renewed since it expired on 12/31/22. No response. I booked a flight yesterday and supposedly bought the DD for $0, but when I try to test book a flight today it tries to charge full fare for DD (and like I said, $0 for the works from my expired 100k). Not sure what the status of my DD membership is. I did delete my saved credit card so I wouldnt be charged for DD automatically.

To be clear, your theory is they carefully watch this space...but they're totally oblivious to their own website where the actual expiration functionality exists? This isn't some sort of pricing loophole, this is akin to the website being down but they only notice it because we're posting about it on Flyertalk. That seems unlikely to me...

Looks like now my 100K status is gone. Fair enough.

But now I'm all the way down to nothing, when in fact I qualified for 20k last year!

Maybe I'm reading it wrong?

They do watch Flyertalk, yes. Carefully is your own wording, not mine. I cannot speak to how often they're in here. Status is hardly akin to a website being down, especially for an ULCC like Frontier. This is a feature, and people are not prone to complain that they are getting "free status".

The IT team is completely separate of the Exec team. The Exec team relays info to them, and I know this first hand because last year I coordinated with them on fixing a sessions bug they had in heir reservation system. I also helped them pinpoint an issue a few months back where FrontierMiles members couldn't book flights due to a website update that erroneously updated everyone's date of birth by a day, unbeknownst to them.

Anyways, I've had many interactions with the team there. Primarily out of greed and frustration on my end, but I can promise without any hesitation they for sure see posts here. As to the frequency? I don't know.

Update: I'm still at 100K. No changes. And no, I'm still not complaining. Just providing info.

I can shed some light on the debate about how often Frontier execs are on this forum. With almost 100 percent certainty I can say that no member of Frontier management ever personally visits forums like this. This does not mean they don't know what's posted, though. A large company like Frontier will usually pay an external company to monitor social media and prepare reports. How often are the reports prepared? It depends on what Frontier is willing to pay for. These reports are given to marketing and then marketing condenses the information for distribution up the chain.

I know this based on my experience with running a forum dedicated to theme parks and inside knowledge about how the topics discussed on that forum eventually make their way up to VP-level managers. What's posted in this thread will not be seen directly by management, but management might eventually receive a report that explains that some people are reporting computer glitches regarding elite status. That's about it.

The info I have wasn't really a debate, per se. I have dialog with people at Frontier's HQ in Denver on numerous occasions now that the Sr. Customer Relations team does in fact view forums, with FlyerTalk called out. These people are directly employed at F9 on the executive level. To be very specific, my interactions come from those very people in the Sr. Customer Relations team.
