Why would it be better to have Midwest? I would think people would prefer to keep the animals, DirecTV, the Frontier brand... If it came down to the name or the cookies, forget the cookies. We need something that people will remember for longer than the time it takes for them to shove a cookie in their mouth..

When I look out the window at the gate I can't see any animals on the tails due to the planes positioning all I see is a tube with wings just like all the other planes sitting. How am i going to remember something I can't see? If you don't live in a larger Frontier market then you will not see any of their commercials with the animals, which will not allow a potential customer the chance to have a name recognition or connect with their marketing gimmick.

The cookie not only allows customers to enjoy some comfort food on a flight, it also allows for more revenue from selling the bake at home version at Sendiks in Milwaukee and the Hen House in Kansas City. Not sure why a company would drop a revenue generator not only through a customer purchasing choice but also the revenue from retail sales.

Thats what I thought when I researched more into the subject online too, but with the email it seems to me its more plausible that they would choose a name similar to this- Im going to try and get a copy from my friend and paste it here (unless thats against the rules) and ill let you make your own conclusions.

I am sorry people but I just do not get it. In my career, I have lost 3 good airlines to either merger or going bust. (Piedmont, TWA and ATA). You just buck it up and move on. I now fly AirTran and am very happy with them. I also fly F9 often on AirTran codeshare. I also like them but I will still like them with or without an animal on the tail or a different name one the skin. What I look for is a reasonable price, good connections and good service. When those things go, I go

I honestly don't care about animal tails or what the airline is called. I do care about service, price and also a decent frequent flyer program.
If they merge both airlines, create a good frequent flyer program and keep their pricing low then business travelers will stay or move to them.
I am Summit and I won't care about the animals or the name but if they make other changes, e.g. taking direct TV away, that might influence my decision to move on.
Trying WN now the first time after a very long hiatus (because their schedule fits better).

I don't need to wait for a branding decision to decide whether I'll stay loyal or not. I'm burning the last of my miles next month and enrolling in Continental OnePass. Sure the fact that I moved has has a part in this decision, but I would have jumped to United if I had remained in Denver. I'm washing my hands of MidRepubliTier, or whatever the hell it is now, and moving on. The only good news in this whole mess is that there's enough demand in the Denver market that if this current albatross goes under others are poised to swoop in and pick up the pieces.
