The schedule loosely follows that of AY’s morning flight. Wouldn’t it make sense for AY to codeshare on the MAN tag and use their own plane on some other route? They already codeshare on the PVG-HEL flights.

It looks like flying via HEL is just temporary solution.

"It will “initially” operate via Helsinki, the carrier said, with Monday, Wednesday and Friday flights arriving into Manchester at 0830 and departing for Shanghai at 1000."

It implies, with plausible deniability, that the plan is to fly PVG-MAN directly. But then would HO drop HEL entirely? Otherwise, the problem remains that an expensive B788 stays put on the Vantaa tarmac for hours every day.

Also it seems that the departure from HEL to PVG has been postponed more than daylight offset would justify, which fits the Finnair waves better... as if HO was copying after JL?

The typical development of tag flights is a non-stop to both destinations. MAN certainly is no indication of HO wanting to drop HEL.

During the summer season HO flies to HEL daily but only three times a week to MAN via HEL.

Is this now confirmed?

Still room for twice weekly KEF. Looks like Juneyao will have a nice little hub at HEL. I wonder if they'll market these tag flights here in Finland.

And I still think AY could and should take advantage of these flights and sell them as codeshares. There is, for instance, no Thursday morning flight to DUB on AY.

Cool! Here's the most important info:

As soon as we have the exact schedules and starting dates, we need to amend the wiki. The flights seem not to be bookable yet and I can't find the KEF schedule.

Days of the week copied from OMAAT comments:
HEL-DUB-HEL will be on Sundays and Thursdays
HEL-KEF-HEL will be on Tuesdays and Saturdays
HEL-MAN-HEL will be Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.

Here's to hoping they will have attractive J fares ^

At 1000€, the 3U fares to CPH are suddenly not so attractive is it that thing were Chinese carriers don't publish discounted fares until a few weeks before departure?

Nope, they’re consistently that high. I hope HO has a different approach.

No they're not. The price just shoot through the roof from April.

Independence day weekend is still listed at 114€ as I write. And St Lucy weekend at rock-bottom 72€.
