I don't know in what form the compensation is paid, but if it is a gift card / electronic voucher, and if you get 3 x €100, then you can only use €100 for one reservation. The system only allows one gift card per reservation (the remainder can be paid in cash or with a credit card).

So why did AY5 leave two hours late again? Can't blame HiFly this time since it was the first day of AY operations.

Is it too hasty to think AY5 is a new "buffer" flight to take other longhaul routes hits, since its departure is outside the big wave?

Perhaps a bit too hasty because the HiFly delays were of course due to there being only one plane (which seemed to go mechanical all too often).

However, there was a time some years ago when JFK was indeed the flight to be cancelled when the need arose. I was affected myself and the agent I talked to at the airport, who seemed very knowledgeable, said that they cancel JFK because rerouting the pax is so easy. Makes sense, there are indeed many options.

So what did I get myself scheduling AY5 twice in the next 2 weeks? I haven't been to HEL in a bit and the AA vacation fares were the cheapest I've seen in ages --- hello snow and ice . Is the 333 a bit more reliable than HiFly? (I assume so). Sitting in steerage - any suggestions?

Thanks

Cheers -

Was on the Jan 5th AY5 which was 2 hours late. Boarded late and then had to wait for a late incoming flight from Moscow with some transfer passengers. I guess this was Finnair's decision so can't fault HiFly. There was definitive no de-icing or weather in play, 100% Finnair's fault.

As for the flight experience, I have to say it was definitive below average. Seats look worn out and drink service was far in between. First time flying Finnair and not impressed.

I dont trust those sites, only AY and Airbus know when is next coming.

But I have heard that next is in 4/2017. And I trust this AY-source.

ICN goes daily A359 from 05MAY17 and 8 359's needed then.

Sure it's not coming 02/2017 and as I wrote back in October 2016 LWH was scheduled for Feb and LWI for Apr but both are postponed ~1 month.

I like her enthusiasm on how this plane is the right choice and how "first class is a good choice even for families".
Upper floor business with 1-2-1 looks very nice.

Wow, did you see HiFlys first A380 customer.
Thomas Cook Scandinavia is flying it from Copenhagen to Larnaca. Wonder how much a first class ticket would be, or maybe the suits are reserved for those lucky people who bought the most expensive Thomas Cook package. :-)
Or did they watch the video and agreed on the claim that suits are great for families. They can probably fit a family of five in a suite. 😂
