Ohh, I see. I wasn't aware they had some negotiations going on.
I already wrote some feedback to AY. We'll see what they answer.

Find below a pic of Finnair's new delicious J-menu! And yes, it's really J ! In Y they didn't have skybistro either.
Any similar experiences lately? Crew told there's some strike in catering, which is causing this...

I had this delicious meal from CPH to HEL although my choice of beverage was water. The FA asked if I had received a text message warning with information of how to ask for compensation. Of course I hadn’t but nice that she asked!

What's up with the microwave type meal for one, service on AY in J intra Europe?

When flying from ZRH to HEL on Thursday we received the meals tray's quite late in the flight (which I'm fine with) and it struck me how poor the service is getting even which such small things as replacing the porcelain/china serving plates with microwave plastic look-alike containers. We were blessed in having to remove the clear plastic top-covers ourselves (HEL-ZRH this was elegantly done by the purser on our behalf before handing over the half empty tray which added a touch of class).

This said, there was an elderly gentleman sitting across the aisle from me who was served much later and on real china and the staff showed a lot of interest in him. My better half (being Finnish) did not know who it was (not that she cares anyway about these things) so we decided he was a politician but then again would he then been flying in J...

I think they were abandoned a little bit over one year ago. Really great that even FAs sometimes do not know what they serve.

And since then, every single time I travel Euro J, I send a feedback to AY about the lack of menu cards (among other things), and every single time they thank me for taking the time for giving feedback and add 5K award points to my account... In the beginning it was fun, but was hoping that I won't have to complain this long, before they'd return the menu cards.
Jainzar and Kari Jurri like this.

Compare with LH FRA-HEL November:

Proper Menu card with choice for main course too.

IMO AY looks noticeably better, especially the appetizer.

Had the microwave style main course on LHR-HEL today. It tasted ok (chicken or roast beef) but the presentation was definately not business class. And no dessert, just three pieces of Fazer chocolate.

So it seems that bringing Business Class meals to Y will be implemented by ”enhancing” the J meals to Y level
