EK First food.

has the food on EK First gone off or am I becoming a little jaded?
Just got of EK F syd-dxb. the food was ok but not stunning as I remember form my 2 trips last year.
Did manage to polish off 6 bottles of the good stuff between 3 though

did have to ask for it to be more chilled which they certainly did ^

and I was pleased to see Moet on the DXM MAN in J. but when will they realise that champgane needs to be very cold!
not warm!
I asked for it to be chilled more but they said they do not have any way to get it colder (they carry very little ice)

so I decided not to drink it

Why not chose another airline, and give us all a break. Do you actually realise what you sound like?

Have you ever seen Absolutely Fabulous? That's how I picture you.

"Champers is too warm darling!"

"Where are my PJ's?"

"Why do they let so many people have gold passes, darling? There are far too many oiks in this lounge "

No. Not sure about the answer to the second part of your question though

they carry very little ice? Are you sure they said that? Normally when I fly they are literally dumping ice in to any drink I order, it annoys me like crazy.

Cheers

I recently posted my experience regarding the service of alcoholic drinks to Customer Affairs. The response was"A large number of the cabin crew are Muslim and therefore do not drink alcohol.Their knowledge of alcoholic cocktails is limited".
I guess it did not say on the menu that you will be served chilled champagne.

sweetie dahling I absolutely PRIDE myself on the fact that if something is not to my liking that I CAN complain and ask for it to be to my liking and when payiing first and J prices I expect the best.

but then if you don't get the best, why don't you try another airline?

I too have much higher standards when flying in F/J than when flying Y, but I tend to put up with "good enough" than the "best" because the best product that a consumer may want may not be profitable for a producer.

Cheers

Part of the experience of flying with any airline is to enjoy their food and beverage service.Regardless of class flown. If an airline advertises a product or a feature then there is an expectation that you will receive it. The passenger in my opinion could not care less if it is profitable or not.Expections increase with the more money you pay for anything.
Just asking the person to fly another airline does not solve the problem.
In my experience I believe that being served warm champagne is not just limited to EK.
Does anyone know the correct temperature that champagne should be served at? If I owned a product that was designed for the "first class"market and it was not being served the correct way then it is sending out the wrong message to the consumer.

When asked for a drink to you reply with no ice please.Something like that should happen only once.

It does... once per flight.

I agree. That is why airline's don't advertise "you will get the best food in the world. guaranteed." Emirates advertises things that may sound extravagant - like 7 course meals in First, and as hard as it is to believe, the deliver that. Food quality is also quite subjective in my experience. On one flight, I heard passengers raving about the Blueberry Pancakes, which I had found inedible.

Yes, but in the world of economics there is supply as well as demand. If a customer demands a Rolex for $5, he isn't going to get one. Obviously people can expect things, but if it isn't profitable for the seller, it's not going to happen.

I think that was the implied point. These sorts of problems exist with all airlines

The ticket for this flight was purchased way back in july last year after I had got off an absolutely supurb first CHC-SYD.The food was fantastic-so I purchased a couple of flights one which I started on 3rd may for myself and 3 others.
Since july last year the other companions have also been on F a couple of times and all said that the food on this flight was very ordinary.
just our opinion .

So I decided to open this thread to see if others are seeing a slide in the quality.
as far as trying other airlines. Ive been on many First and find that EK is coming down to their standards fast instead of keeping up the quality I remember

Its not like i can get off midflight if the food isnt up to standard can i?

ok, yes that's fine. I am not saying that you should have gotten up mid-flight, but what I am trying to say is that you can't expect the food to always be as good as that one EK flight that you took.

Cheers

I agree, however, there should be some kind of constancy concerning the service an airline provides to its returning customers. When the experience is different every time the guest is on board, he or she will most likely switch to a different carrier instead.
Ive never been in F on EK, so I cant comment on the service, but the last flight I took in J class was way above average (no comment on the mediocre seating though).

I agree, and generally I have found Emirates' service to be consistant. I am simply saying that you can't expect it as your birthrite. I have had one off times with airlines as well.

If it is really bad, I will complain or switch carriers to something that provides a service that I like more rather than remaning with that carrier and being constantly unhappy. If I can't find any carrier that makes me happy - then my demands aren't reasonable with regards to the airline.

An example:

If someone had lie-flat business class seats as their top priortiy when flying - they would not stick to Emirates because not even 1 of their planes has it.

Cheers

Yes, Try another airline

For food and soon to be consistant seating, try Gulf Air..the Chef in F class will blow you away. They r gen 5 star background chefs who make sure food and drinks are presented and served properly. Also, the 8 pax only F pod seating cabin in A330 and A340 is superb. Variety is the spice of life. GF have won best food in F and J and Best F class service of any ME carrier and now with seating you will be pleasantly surprised.
Enjoy whom ever u chose to fly :-:
