Service window! That's a good idea. I was thinking how annoying it would be for cabin crew to be constantly opening the doors to speak or check on you
|
Found it-
https://www.emirates.com/english/exp...ger/index.aspx then click on Enter Suite half way down. |
So some of the suites will be rear facing. Mixed opinions on that.

The Emirates video does not do it any justice, I ended up playing with the interactive page for a while and finally I am beginning to like it, will only know once I try it out and it seems its potentially going to hit some Oz and US destinations so I think I need to schedule this into the plans.
I am waiting for more videos and images to appear but so far it does look much nicer than anything I have seen so far. |

Wow, it looks amazing. My favourite is the floor to ceiling window, so full privacy, and I am really interested to see how the virtual windows work!
They need Casey Neistat to come and review it asap when it is released, I really enjoyed his Emirates First Class Review with over 47 million views! |
Nice video
But it does not yet blow the competition out of the water. It is only just starting to catch up to Air France, which has had fully enclosed suites for quite a while now. Although the virtual window is neat, I wonder if I would tire of it after a flight or two? Now if EK ever starts to offer a true first class ground service like AF or a first class lounge near as good as AF, then it will be at the top. |
Definitely an improvement over the existing cabin, but certainly not a “game changer”, as evolution, not revolution. Somewhat disappointing to me if I compare this, e.g., to the new SQ product.

The best part of the new launch is that the original EK theme music is back with an orchestral rescore :D

Apparently only 9 frames will have the new layout..?

As for game changing, I think that will depend on the implementation of the enclosure - is it going to be a bit claustrophobic, or is it going to be like showers on board, which on paper sound like a complete gimmick, but in reality are an excellent addition to the product. That, I think, will depend on the convenience of the service window, storage when in full bed mode, and the effectiveness of the temperature controls. Also, the middle seat TV screen window  Hope that doesn’t break/overheat! I think the video call is a bit of a gimmick - who in F uses the handset to call “galley service”? - and so are the binoculars, but it’s a talking point. Product will live and die on the arrangement and implementation of the full enclosure imho. |
The ones in the post below are better.

Here’s a live video walkthrough from one of the bloggers at the event.
Update: So the virtual window feature is pretty cool. Actual windows, and the screen is recessed with a live HD quality feed on the outside. I was fooled until he said it. |
