Allowing for a slightly wider seat / bed and I would love the Singapore style bed, also the desk I find quite useless and drinks go onto it not ideal when your reclining so another thing I would remove or reduce.

Also better ventilation at the sides on the A380 as when the doors are closed it becomes stuffy and very warm.

However any change should be interesting.

+1 for wider seat SQ style.
+1 also for better & smoother ventilation

As for desk, you need one for snack basket or after-shower tea, but, it can be placed elsewhere as objects obstruct the screen. As an aside, I never understood the use of the half moon set of cream and scent. Why aren't they in the amenity pouch and save space ?

Some have mentioned the fact that it appears most likely that EK89/90 (from Dec 5) to Geneva is most likely to get the new F seats. I know there are no guarantees, but does anyone know if this is still likely to be the case?

Looking at Expertflyer for a range of dates for EK89 from 05/12, the seatmap is still showing the current F layout.

It could change but I’m sure EK will announce with fanfare when and what route their new F product will be put into action.

They might announce route for first flight but won't pronounce in general which routes I think, they don't usually make such announcements

There was some speculation that the 100th A380 would feature the new F ... but alas, based on the photos of the bevy of bloggers at the delivery, that was not the case.

Was there? New F so far only confirmed in 777, I've not seen any reports of new F in A380

That’s exactly what I thought, no announcements about changes on the 380.

Looks like its official:
- new 777 F on BRU and GVA routes starting Dec 1.
- 6 suites in 1-1-1 layout
- product reveal at Dubai Airshow

Great to see EK willing to actually innovate and cut seat capacity in favour of improved hard product and stay at the top of the game - if course we don't know exactly what the new hard product is yet, and it may be years before the majority of the fleet has it, but still a promising step in the right direction.

I'm also curious to see what improvements they've made in Y and J. The 777 could easily be visually improved in Y with the faux wood window trimmings found in the A380 for instance.

Likewise!

Just looking for a reason why I would need to fly to either GVA or BRU in the next couple of months... :D

Unless I'm mistaken, it appears that award seats for these flights with the first F cabins have been blocked from Dec 1st onwards. Is anyone seeing anything differently?

I'm in a flight back from Belgium right now, doubt I'll be back anytime soon - not that I'd be flying in F but never know what creative backdoor I could've found

Nope, but it was cheaper than flying from BRU. I took a scenic coastal drive from Bruges to the Hague and spent the day then in to Schiphol. But if there had been new F and some way for me to be in it I'd have obviously flown from BRU
