It prices out on GF and their website so fingers crossed that's still the case when my preferred dates open up and that it goes through booking. Seems like a perfectly reasonable routing for us crazy FTers! :P

Is there an updated list of where gets the new F? Its back on HND since flights restarted (we were lucky enough to get half price points upgrades on it recently J-F).
But I guess one of the routes must have been dropped in favour of HND?

NCE no longer gets new F but does get new J so I guess the airframe that was operating this route is now being deployed to HND or on the 2nd daily STN rotation.
Temporary change for NCE until the 380 returns on this route from the 1st June.

There is no F area in the outstation lounges. The lounges are fine, nothing to get too excited about or that warrants arriving early (but still better than most business class lounges).

EK is slot limited at LHR so every flight needs to be on an A380 as EK needs every F seat it can get from LHR. STN actually has a quite wealthy catchment area including tech/biopharma corporates around Cambridge etc, as well as being the easiest to access airport for a lot of the finance industry based in East London, which is probably what warrants it. In addition 6 F seats probably works better than 8 in old 777 F (I think similar applies to likes of ZRH, GVA, NCE etc. where the population in the catchment area is not massive but includes some pockets of very high wealth that is willing to pay a premium). It's not a co-incidence STN is the only airport to get new F twice a day.

Both STN flights get it until end of November only, then STN loses new F for now, sadly. This is covered in another thread.
