Information on Load requests
The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.
NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.
For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:
Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.
When requesting a load please provide the following information:
- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination
These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

Thanks, looks like the DXB-HND leg will be a very busy flight.

Hi All - please can someone provide me with information for EK772 on 30 September, and EK773 on 15 October? I have signed up for miles upgrade notifications (economy to business) but want to see what my chances are.
Many thanks in advance.

I happen to know those flight numbers because it is a route I fly frequently. But please note the 'instructions' for this thread: You are supposed to give the flight number AND the departure and arrival airports. ExpertFlyer needs that as input and most regular posters will not know all routes and will not go through the effort of looking them up. Having said that:

Outgoing (772) does not look promising. Return (773) OK at the moment but that's still a while away.
My current experience is that there will be no upgrades available before check in.
But Mrs t managed to get one on 772 last night (asking at the C lounge in DXB and issued at the gate) when EF showed J5C5 a few days earlier.
Good luck.

Cash Upgrades
Were travelling LGW-DXB-LGW in a couple of weeks time and I was wondering about cash upgrades.
The aircraft has changed from a 2 class A380 to 3 class and as a result economy is likely to be very busy (half term). LGW-DXB sector currently selling for 750 each, Business Saver tickets available.
Does anyone have any insights on the likelihood of cash upgrade offers being sent through in the days before the flights? Is this more likely to happen if economy is oversold and they need to balance the cabins? We have purchased tickets via an agent so I understand that ahead of time they would need to make changes, more interested in what happens within the check-in window.
Would appreciate any info on recent info about email upgrade offers ex UK & DXB.

I suggest you ask closer to the time (max 2 weeks). That way you dont get your hopes up and we dont end up with weekly load check requests for those flights.

Ah ok. Thanks for heads up. will ask again week before as I think the offers to upgrade are sent a few days before or are offered at checkin anyway

Hi,
With a week to go, could some kind soul please give me the current stats on EK20 MAN -> DXB on 24th November and EK19 DXB -> MAN on 1st Dec.
Currently booked in Y, hoping there is plenty of availability in J for a cash upgrade offer.
thanks
V.
