Information on Load requests
The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.
NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.
For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:
Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.
When requesting a load please provide the following information:
- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination
These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

Thanks very much. Taking my chances and waiting for the last (and longest) flight of the trip and hoping it stays open for upgrades.

They emailed me an upgrade offer however I did not realise the email was sent until 2 hours after it had been sent. Therefore, they are telling me no luck you missed it and the only way you can upgrade now is by giving us GBP 4400 for 2x pax.
Bit of a joke but nobody is willing to help at emirates. The flight load was the same before they sent the offer and is still currently showing the same number of J availability after the offer was sent.
Worth asking at the airport? In the past i've accepted upgrade offers 24hrs after initial email and got them no problem

Thank you very much for that!

What has probably happened is that the seats that were made available in ‘P’ were sold, it has little to do with current availability in O, I, J and C buckets.
You can always ask at the airport, but chances are you will be quoted the fare difference at that time, which may be more than now.

Do you know what the potential miles upgrade cost into first from a 'P' business class seat would be? For example if a business saver ticket costs 92000 miles to upgrade into first, is it safe to assume the P class would be the same or more if a purser were to let you upgrade onboard (barring the one upgrade per flight rule). Thank you.
