Information on Load requests
The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.
NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.
For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:
Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.
When requesting a load please provide the following information:
- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination
These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

Please note that I did a query for the entire trip and not for individual sectors. So the result is influenced by married segment logic.

As always, with the mention that an Expert Flyer subscription costs $9.99 per month, that it can very easily be switched on and off on a monthly basis and that there is a free 5 day trial (and no, I have no shares in EF), here goes:

thijsseh does actually mention it in pretty much every load he posts, and the EF lurker was recently active in this thread which may have spurned more awareness of the fact we're kind of "stealing" their info (I don't actually mean that, they said it's fine to provide occasional loads), the wiki also mentions it I think, it isn't meant as a discouragement, just a reminder

But.... I have a bit of a problem with the 'can't justify' bit (and I accept that 'justification' is very much a personal issue). When people asking for load requests on the Emirates board, with EK only offering long haul flights which will cost at least several hundred pounds and possibly much more, AND these requests seeming to have value to the prospective travellers (otherwise they would not ask for them), I find it hard to understand that one can't justify less than 8 quid (I see you are in London, hence the conversion at today's rate) once-off to get that information (presumably to see if a certain fare is available or to make guesses about op-up chances). If it was on the BA board and the request was for LHR/AMS or similar 'cheap' flights, I would have a lot more understanding. Anyway, not trying to be nasty, that's not in my nature. But I needed to get that off my chest!

That's fine, and I really don't mind doing the odd search on EF for the good of the (EK) community especially as ExpertFlyer Voice has sort of 'condoned' it (thanks for that, ExpertFlyer Voice).

Yeah definitely, loads just make you worry unnecessarily about the flight and give you a false sense of control over the experience
