shouldn't be a problem as it would be on the same fare anyway (given that PG has availability) so no real extra costs for EK (despite the PG sector)

was it a regular fare? same fare still available? Had the same and full refunded in the end (they will not pay you the fare difference if is more than 48h (I guess)) and bought a C class ticket and upgraded to F where it was possible.

I only found out due to exper flyer. They didn't contact me - the fare difference is 3k aed return or 1500 each way so I'm expecting 1500 aed back.

most annoying thing is that you do not get an auto mail for the downgrade...
good luck with the fare difference, spent the last time a lot of time and energy - didnt worked in the end.
call again next week, afaik as soon as there is an involuntary change you can full refund or change foc (as I said, this is not a really rerouting, just the interline fare for HKT)

Ek22 on the other hand I'm not happy with, they seem to be having issues moving us to ek18...

(similarly with various online travel agents), which is of course totally ridiculous given that all the PG flights have EK codes on them.I agree that the fare should be the same (AEEESAE1) so I was trying to force the booking, but no luck.
m3red I'd recommend popping into an EK office somewhere in DXB and tasking an agent with getting it done!
Failing that there's always getting a full refund and getting a travel agent to sort things out for you - they might even be able to put you on one of the TG flights with an actual J class (or even F seats if you are really lucky)!

I think I see the problem now - EKs computers are saying no and that DXB-BKK-HKT is not combinable

The return - I wanted pg to a Bkk Dxb first flight but they said they couldn't get the pg fare...
As I said it's annoying but a first world problem and it's only 6 hours... I would prefer f given the flight time though.
Much more annoying is the difficulty in ek22 to ek18 at Xmas - surely it's straightforward even if 18 is more expensive?

Dxb Hkt is fine we are in f so wouldn't change that.
