I think I see the problem now - EKs computers are saying no and that DXB-BKK-HKT is not combinable
(similarly with various online travel agents), which is of course totally ridiculous given that all the PG flights have EK codes on them.
I agree that the fare should be the same (AEEESAE1) so I was trying to force the booking, but no luck.
m3red I'd recommend popping into an EK office somewhere in DXB and tasking an agent with getting it done!

this should be possible if F is still available on 18. even when the same booking class is not available

unfortunately no access to fares but there should be a through fare with PG/TG (not sure if they took it out ex DXB..)
Painful asking them due to separate bookings and wife on j to f miles upgrade and me on a paid f ticket

That's really annoying m3red. I noticed last month (Sept) ek22 had been swapped 2/3s of the time to the 2 class. Very frustrating since, timing-wise, it's so much more convenient for me. Perhaps the 2 class A380 is on its way? Though I've seen swaps when coach-load is fairly light, business is fairly full and first has passenger/s so not always rhyme nor reason to it.

I chose that flight as it gets me home at a reasonable hour rather than 1am and then a drive to the marina and a commute to work the next day...
I can't believe this move isn't instant and that I've had 2 in one day!

It's definitely a 2 class 77w. The evening flight is moving to a 2 class 380.

ETA it sucks even more that they won't simply put you on ek18 - don't understand that.

This should be done without me having to call chase nag and tweet. Total joke given what I've spent the last 3 years.

most annoying thing is that you do not get an auto mail for the downgrade...
good luck with the fare difference, spent the last time a lot of time and energy - didnt worked in the end.
call again next week, afaik as soon as there is an involuntary change you can full refund or change foc (as I said, this is not a really rerouting, just the interline fare for HKT)

The company will no longer be providing that which you have booked and , if EK was to sulk at refunding, is something that would be easy to dispute with a card issuer ( assuming paid by credit card )

If that is the ticket where a downgrade has occurred, then yes you can

The company is no longer providing that which was purchased
Speak to Emirates and if it says no, I would call the card company ( assuming booked on credit card ) and ask to dispute the charge. Here ( at least ) , not having the class booked is somthing that American Express was happy to dispute and was successful

In which case, almost certainly no issue to cancel and be entitled to a refund

Outrageous.
EK are offering 300 aed when the fare difference was 1500.
No call no notice no mention on the flight home nothing.
Wife used miles gets them back straight away I paid 1500 and get 300 offered.
Absolute shambles they should be giving me the full refund plus miles for compensation. Seriously going to move some business to Qatar next year.
