It seems that EK is operating with 234 active passenger fleet frames at any one time to meet the current schedule.
Out of 103 A380 frames 2 are in storage and 3 are in maintenance All 777-200LR frames are currently operating though they will be rotated through maintenance one by one between now and December for the new 2 class seating to be installed Out of 137 777-300ER frames 11 are currently in storage and 2 are in maintenance Out of 3 777-300 frames 2 are left in active service with 1 currently in storage |
It seems that B77W A6-EBP (a 2-class frame) will soon join Rossya Airlines....like her sisters A6-EBA and A6-EBL.
|
Yes, may be she is just doing some maintenance work.....But I know that EBP together with EBS and EBT are scheduled to join Rossya Airlines....If the plans have changed, what is also a possibility, I am not sure.

Sure about the 777-300s? Looks like EMV and EMX are in service, and EMR seems to be in maintenance, unless it's withdrawn from use for good. Meanwhile EMT has been at DWC since 1st April.
As a side note A6-EDW just returned from maintenance so there are currently 125 active pax aircraft. EK currently has a lot of fleet flexibility with all the parked aircraft and could conceivably add 20 aircraft to the active fleet before calendar year end if they had the need and available crews. |

Strange. I thought the Rossiya deal was only for A6-EBA, EBL, EBP, EBS and EBT. EBC's serial number was never mentioned in the post...
As for VIM, well they went bankrupt so no planes are going there. A6-EBD did and that's lying in storage at AUH apparently. Thanks for the info. Somewhere I saw that EBC was being returned as well... I guess it's a fluid situation.. |

Looking at April 18, we see: 1 773L < 777/300 A6-EMR 3 77WP < 777/300ER with crew rest area: A6-ECP, A6-ECT, A6-EGF 7 77WR < 777/300ER without crew rest area: A6-EBB, EBI, EGJ, EGO, EGS, EGZ, ENT and ENU....so, we have 8 frames stead 7....maybe the pic ist old? 1 388U < A380 with crew rest area: A6-EDB |

EBC never left EK, it's still in service.
EBD went to VIM, which went bankrupt, so EBD was apparently returned to EK. According to FR24, it has been in Moscow since early March. |

Lots of theories on other forums and social media. Wonder why they're going in... maintenance? Crew shortages? Massive cutbacks on flights to US because of crew shortages?
Thanks for the chart clarifications |

Correct, EBD was leased by ALC.
It was ZRHMD who explained the chart, however I have a question. On the chart it shows 13 77Ws stored in May 2018 and then 10 stored in June 2018. Does this mean that total 77Ws stored will be 23 or that 3 will return to service? I read a blog post and that claims that according to this chart EK will have 40+ aircraft in storage. Surely the crew shortages can't be that bad? I was under the impression that the chart is showing aircraft cycling in and out of storage and not new aircraft being stored every month. ZRHMD11 what's your take on this? |

A380 A6-EDL went into storage in DWC this morning.
|
B777/300ER A6-ENZ also wento into storage in DWC.
|
One more stored......B777/300ER A6-EPU.
|
Are they actually storing these frames or are they doing maintenance?
Additionally, some of the discussion over at pprune by disgruntled flight crew is interesting. |
777 Storage
Based on the ek source site: A6-EPU, ENZ is now back in storage last night upon return from their 2 destinations. ENZ was put in storage shortly after returning from Jakarta as EK359 at DWC at 12:42PM, EPU was put in storage shortly after arrival from Dublin as EK164 in the afternoon at 12:48PM. Some reports that ECI and ECT will be back from storage soon.

I particularly like the tangent that the discussion on pprune went onto re: lifestyle in Dubai. Hilarious reading.
Did you read the "scrolls" about the "cameleers"? |

My favorite is the "Are you ready to move to Dubai" quiz in the sticky post... I don't belong in Dubai. Love visiting... don't even mind driving around (LA drivers are similar). But to live? Probably not.
Did you read the "scrolls" about the "cameleers"? Will go read the other. (and now back to the Fleet Guide). |

Among EMQ; following EK B773 are planned to join CX: EMR, EMT, EMV and EMX |
One more stored....A380 A6-EEJ.
|
Is it worth creating a new thread talking about crew shortages - esp. cabin crew as it relates to reduced service levels?
I heard that they got rid of one FA from First on the A380 with the Purser covering First as well as their existing role that helps J during their services (along with supervising all the cabins in general). I haven't flown since March so this is all new to me :) |
Another A380 parked in DWC...A6-EDG.
|
One more B77W stored, A6-EGT.
|
A380 A6-EOO is back from storage in DWC.
|
B77W A6-EBB and A6-ECP are back to DXB after spending a few weeks in storage in DWC.
|
EI-GET
I think one of the person named Olga just released the picture of EI-GET on IG, she said that the interior/configuration is still an former EK seating.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BjJgUgXn6mH/?tagged=eiget In addition to that, A6-EBP is doing an AIR Test earlier this weak, so is it time to leave for Rossiya next? |

Interesting, would be weird to see the EK J cabin on a non-EK aircraft.
I also noticed EBP going out for test flights, so I can only assume it's up next to get kicked out of EK. |
A380 A6-EDB is also back from DWC.

I've noticed that there isn't any list online (please correct me if you have found it) that gives the Reg of those A388 with live Ice TV capabilities.
I must admit I didn't really ever care but I want to watch State of Origin on my flight tonight on A6-EDM and can't find out if it has ICE live TV. |
