777 deliveries will resume shortly, with A6-EPA/B/C all due to arrive in the next couple of weeks (all 3-class). A6-EPB will be the 150th 777 delivered to Emirates.

A6-EFS (freighter) also due shortly, but we are unlikely to travel on that!

ZRHMD11 Aug 30, 2015 7:54 am

@Blagger & A6EDH:

Thanks for the updates.....!

New cabins?

Both the Dubai Airshow and a $20 million Jennifer Aniston ad campaign are around the corner. We also hear the first class 'bedroom' is nearly done. Surely this must also be the end of embarrassing angled-flat 2-3-2 business seats in the 777s brazenly presented as 'luxury'!?

Are the stars finally aligned for a new business class cabin to be unveiled this November? What do folks think?

Chris23024 Sep 3, 2015 12:15 am

Hopefully, could new economy seats also be unveiled. Any chance of Emirates announcing Premium Economy?

I doubt it. With 10 abreast seating, they'd rather pack as many as they can inside the a/c.

No and No.

New IFE for J and F I understand.

kuroko Sep 3, 2015 9:51 am

F will be new in 2016. I assume they will announce at the airshow

That's coming.

Let's hope for a new j class too - I thought they were doing it for the a350 but given that cancellation who knows now...

Can anybody tell me what is a B77W and what is the configuration. (Not listed in the fleet guide.)

It's a B777-300ER.

ZRHMD11 Oct 28, 2015 1:30 am

Talking about configurations; EK have 3 diferent cabin lay-out on the 777/300ER

A. Frames with C42 Y386
B. Frames with F8 C42 Y310
C. Frames with F8 C42 Y304 These have a crew-bunker area and are needed for ultra long flights to SEA, IAD, ADL, BOS, ORD or GRU for example.

A6EDH Nov 9, 2015 11:23 am

The two class A380 needs to be added to this. A6-EOP and A6-EOQ are confirmed to have the new config. It also has a new version of the ICE System, with bigger screens

But for some reason, they are being sold as business....I hope you will have good luck and get one of those seats...!!

I am on Emirates flight 99 from Dubai to Rome. When I purchased the tickets, it showed 4 across F and two rows for a total of 8 seats. Now it shows 6 across and 12 seats. Can anybody share anything about the 12 seat configuration?? I presume it is something short of "suites". Thanks for any counsel.

Yes it's the sky cruiser seats EK uses for short hops in the region, India Jordan Sri Lanka, Cairo or some African routes. Huge difference between the suites and sky cruisers. I would not pay for this for over 4 hours, in fact when I'm platinum I would stick to j if that was the first offering as I would get the lounge access anyway.

On ExpertFlyer, the DXB-SFO flights are listed using the equipment code 38P. I'm not seeing it on the first page of this fleet guide. Is that a new configuration?

All A380s from A6-EEU onwards have two extra seats in Y, but this isn't shown on the first post here, although you can see it in the listing in post #2.

There was also a change in MTOW from A6-EEL, but I think it's the seating difference that required the new equipment code.

MSN114 is a MH frame. Interesting news if that's the case.

NOIR Mar 5, 2016 7:25 am

If that's the case than EK don't mind buying second hand A380 with RR power plants. SQ will also be retiring A380's soon.

EK must be buying these air frames for next to nothing then.

Not for nothing was this deal announced last year:

Was on A6-EBS today and while it had the old ICE in Business, it didn't have the partition / bulkhead like the other earlier T7's, even had the little serving area where the cabin crew put crisps and fruit etc.

I guess my question is, from which EB* T7 did the bulkhead go and all 6 rows of business be together as opposed to the one row behind it?

ZRHMD11 Apr 2, 2016 5:40 am

2 more A330 have been stored in march; A6-EAH and A6-EKS-

Now only 10 A330 are still in service:

3 A330 in 2-class cabin lay-out: EAK, EAQ and EAS
7 A330 in 3-class cabin lay-out: EAF, EAR, EKT, EKU, EKV, EKX and EKY

I'm not sure, was thinking exactly the same thing when I was on A6-EBS a few weeks ago. I had previously (years ago) been on A6-EBX with the partition. I was wondering if they refitted the older ones to the newer style?

Am I right in saying that by 2017 the only Airbus aircraft EK will be operating will be the A380?

Apart from the 319 which is not usually listed, it certainly looks like it.

It is just as true that the only Boeing aircraft that EK will be operating in the near future is the 777? That should simplify things a bit.

Nobody seems to have mentioned this yet, but there will be a new Business Class seat for the to be delivered 777:

Existing ones will aparently not be retrofitted.

Bit confused as trying find out what version of ICE doesn't come easily to me , does A6-ECG have ICE digital ????

Thanks

ft101 Jun 18, 2016 3:07 am

ICE digital widescreen, although not the very latest version.

joer1212 Jul 11, 2016 11:04 pm

Looks like EK is really ramping up to go head-to-head with EY.

Retirements?

EKV and EKX (332s) haven't flown in a week.... anyone know if this is routine or service withdrawal?

777-200LR

Does anyone know if these planes have been retrofitted with the new ice screens?

All the 77L have the first generation of ICE Digital Widescreen similar to the first A380's which may be over 9 years old now but I believe still one of the best IFE systems out there IMHO. I'm pretty sure there are no plans to retrofit any older aircraft with the latest ICE.

WilliamSudarpo Jul 26, 2016 11:40 pm

First 77W retirement schedule

According to emirates247, Emirates will be retired 1 of their 77W along with 25 other aircraft. Which plane will EK retires their first 77W? Heard the oldest one is A6-EBB and the other older one were EBA, EBC-EBJ or the other one in 2006-2007 made one?

WilliamSudarpo Aug 20, 2016 6:32 pm

Is A6-EBA has already fitted with WI-FI? I see that this plane has something with WIFI on it?

RichL Aug 21, 2016 10:01 am

EBA is the eldest as far as I am aware.
