Curious to know when Emirates will introduce premium economy on Amsterdam flights.

KLM has offered PE (/Premium Comfort) for a long time on this route while on the routes Emirates introduces there isn't much competition, right?

Is it true that Emirates does not offer noise cancellation headphones in PE?

Looks like a heavy check + PE refit. Should take around 70-80 days. I think she will return in August.

A6-EEA and A6-EEE both returned to action after long lay-offs. No news of any of the 5 remaining DWC resident A380's returning yet but I'm hoping one will do soon. Surely it's not going to be until 2026 at least before the remaining A380 fleet is finally returned to use?

It's also worth noting EED, EEF, EEG, EEH and EEI are all stopped and have been since June/July. Must be undergoing some age related check?

EEA through EEI are all 12-13 years old and are therefore going through 12-year heavy checks.

EEJ-EEZ will see the same downtime in the coming 12-18 months.

We will only see another frame ferried from DWC after EDP returns to service.

Not really, months before a stored frame returns to service, another frame is sent from DWC to DXB...

So has happened in the past......at least until now.

Hi, does anyone know where the 200LR's are in the refurbishment progress? Are they due to happen after the 300ER's or at the same time? Thanks/

I dont believe the 200LRs are scheduled for a refurb, they will probably be phased out and retired or converted into freighters.

Thanks - I guess with the B777-8 not coming till 2030 at the earliest if at all, maybe they need to keep them longer for their special routes?

The A350 with crew rest area will take their places.

Starting in december, ADL will be the first destination.

Probably MEX and YUL will follow soon after.

Accuracy of 3D Seat Map

Hi folks,

I was checking out the seat selections for my flight from Hong Kong to Dubai in the next few days and I would like to know if the 3D view of the seat in the MMB section is accurate or not. Im talking about the furbishing as you know EK got some old business class layouts and some newer one on the A380s. Can I rely on the 3D seat view to determine if my flight is configured with the newer or older business class seats?

Many thanks xx

No, those 3D views are not linked to your specific flight. And as far as I am aware, they generally show the latest layout and not a typical one. For instance a F seat on a 77W is shown as a game changer product which there are only available on 9 out of 120+ frames.

Ah i see, because prior to online check-in, i was seeing the newer 3rd gen ICE entertainment layout in the 3D seat preview, but when I actually did the online check in to reconfirm my seats, I saw the older 1st gen/2nd gen white colour ICE layout in the 3D seat preview (I'm referring to the J class seats here btw). My heart dropped a beat cuz I really hope it isn't the older generations of entertainment system hahaha.

Many thanks to you "thijsseh"!

What is your flight number? Direct HKG-DXB or the service via BKK?
I can try to look uo (Flightradar24) what frames are 'usually' employed. For instance, the current EK383 is flown by A6-EPA which is a 4 class refurbished 77W with 3rd generation IFE. From a quick look, it appears that EK381 is operated by a refurbished A380, again with 33rd generation IFE. So if you are on a direct flight you are probably 'in luck'.

And also: Welcome to FlyerTalk and in particular the Emirates subforum. I hope you will get good input / advice here and also that you will feed back to the rest of the community!

Hi, yea I will be taking the direct service from HKG-DXB with EK381. I wish I was flying the EK383 so I can get a taste of their new refurbished 4-class 77W
Appreciated your help and detailed explanation!
