I just came back from Dubai. There will be a new special livery on the A380. It will be a Emirates Courier Express livery. I could not determine which airframe it is, but I think A6-EOC.
Edit: A6-EET it is: https://www.instagram.com/p/DJhgv0eBrpm/?igsh=MThqN3Y1a29pOXR3bQ==

Damn EK. Keep on flying one of the trashy 77W old biz to GIG/EZE. Even the 77L was far superior to that, but they claim that it is to offer F in this route which is "extremely successful" (a blatant lie). Its so sad that it seems that QR will never fly to GIG, as they just increased their offering to GRU to 3 daily. As much as I despise EKs 77W old biz, I cant justify adding 5 hours to my usual 30 hours-long flights to Asia. And Ive just read that EK will only have 50% of the fleet refurbished by the end of 2025...oh damn, "FLY BETTER" isnt it?

I understand this perspective, but EK has long prioritised routes based on where they can charge the highest premiums, and the manner they are redeploying refurbed aircraft is consistent with that. I cant see that ever changing, because they are a very commercially focused firm.

I came across this interview with Emirates' Head of Engineering, discussing the refurbishment project: https://www.aerotime.aero/articles/e...shment-project
Some of the interesting points that were made:
Some of the interesting points that were made:
- A380 retrofits will speed up come November/December when more capacity to retrofit aircraft is available
- As many as 10 A380s are out of service at a given time due to wing checks
- Expecting 'phase one' of the refurbishment project will be completed by the end of 2026
- 'Phase two' will include installing a new first class product, upgrading IFE and modernized connectivity options
- Program could include as many as six 'phases' of refurbishment
