Emirates777, hope you can help with a quick question. Will the 77W's used on DXB-KUL-MEL-KUL-DXB be equipped with lie-flat J or will the older models (EBB-EBQ) be used? Im looking specifically at December '10 and January '11.

Thanks.

The 3-class 77W's that will be used on EK408/409 DXB-KUL-MEL-KUL-DXB will be equipped with SkyCruiser seats in F and deep reclining seats in J. So this will be the aircraft registered A6-EBB, A6-EBC, A6-EBE, A6-EBG, A6-EBI, A6-EBJ, A6-EBK, A6-EBM, A6-EBN, A6-EBO.

The older B77W's are in the process of being refurbished but none of the 3-class aircraft have been done yet. Its not clear at the moment how many of these aircraft will have been refurbished by December-10/January-11.

FYI - A6-EBQ was recently refurbished and now sports Suites in F, but has always has had lie-flats in J, and new Weber seats in Y.

Thanks for the information. Think i'll avoid the 408/409 if I can although the schedule for flying GLA-DXB would mean without having around an 8 hour stopover, i'd need to fly the 408.

I know that at the moment EK27/28 DXB-GLA-DXB is normally lie-flat. Will this stay like this until january '11?

Thanks

thats great news about TIP, i was wondering when they were going to increase their frequency it. that flight always seems full. im surprised they're waiting untill next year for. it seems it can do with an upgrade now.
what they need ex tip, is a bigger business class cabin. it seems pretty hard to find a biz seat a week before a flight, so often enough i either have to go economy or fly QR.

Really? At the end of November it was still "deeply reclining" and services by flight on EK website still shows this.

It would be very nice if they did put something with better seats on this route though.

I doubt that any EK 777-300ER in 2 class config are fitted with lie-flat seats.

Well actually if you read the post about EK a/c with ICE, Emirates777 has explained that the new 773s and one old, A6-EBD, have been fitted and refitted in turn with new cabins, featuring lie-flat.
Currently A6-EBD has been to GLA most days over the past few weeks with the odd A6-ECY, -ECZ.

Emirates777, are the 773s used on EK 3/4 (DXB-LHR) always with Suites in First or does SkyCruiser pop up now and again?

Thank you

I find the DXB - RUH always full for weeks in advance (so is Saudia) particular on Sat / Sun outbounds and certainly Wed inbounds. It is packed each and every time. Even then additional Wed noon flight doesnt cater for all.

Any plans here? Who has the same impression?

EK003/004 generally operates with Suites in F however there is the occasional equipment change to an aircraft with SkyCruisers -- if F demand on a given date is high they swap out.

I would expect that more of the two-class B77Ws will be refurbished by then. But January 11 is a long way out. But in terms of planning as of now the plan is to operate EK027/028 DXB-GLA-DXB with the lie-flat 2-class aircraft. But as you know with Emirates there will always be changes subject to operational reasons on the day.

I know all about EK's sudden changes unfortunately!
At least it's not just a temporary upgrade to lie-flat. Has made me consider EK again instead of trying out Qatar.
