Every time I read a story like this I can't help but think it was a missed opportunity for EL AL who had their heads in their rear ends with regard to opening new routes.

Now we know how LY will handle the reduced capacity to NYC when the 789s start replacing the 744s:

I like the addition of an afternoon flight and LOVE the addition of a night flight. Right now, UA is the only option at night for a direct flight EWR-TLV. Whether or not this causes a price war with UA, at least I'll have another option. When flying with a baby, much prefer that over the afternoon flight.
