I am seriously about to give up on Houston for pizza. I've lived here for 5 years and still have yet to find a halfway decent pizza place. I just get heart broken every time someone suggests something is good. I've tried NY Pizzeria, Star Pizza, BJ's Brewhouse, etc. Anyone have any suggestions?
To contribute, my favorite pizza is Giordano's, a close second was some random little Sicilian-ran restaurant in Munich, and the best chain (not national chain) is Jet's Pizza which is in a bunch of random eastern states. http://www.onesameal.com/ |

GadgetFreak made me laff!
I think the best pizza in Chicago is my neighborhood pizza place, D'Agostino's. They've got several locations but the Wrigleyville one seems to be the best to me. Super thin crust, not quite flatbread thin though, and super fresh ingredients and toppings. They provide the pies for Wrigley during the season. Had an excellent taco pizza there just last night. YUM!! |
It's top notch here in Lafayette, Louisiana, Alesi's Pizza and Pizza Village are MUST TRY spots!

Di Fara - 1424 Avenue J, Brooklyn Dom just keeps making whatever type of pizza my heart desired. :D Not a person left hungry. Di Fara's keeps winning all these awards. It's good for him, but bad for you since you can expect to wait 20 - 90 minutes for a slice. Tip, call a few days ahead (if they pick up), and pre-order a pie. They have the most expensive slice in NY Five bucks, but it's worth every penny. I've been eating here on and on since he opened in the mid 60's. In those days, you could just stroll in. Di Fara's is just a 30 - 45 minute subway ride from midtown Manhattan. dh |
Cibo in Miami FL is by far the pizza that most resembles Italian pizza I've ever had in Florida (ie ITS AMAZING)

In Anaheim, CA there is great pizza at Cortina's Italian Reataurant & Deli. It's very
popular with the locals and nearby the Disney parks. |
John's of Bleecker and Artichoke Basil in NY - both superb
|
Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns.
Just kidding.. Chicago Deep Dish - Lous Malnatis, NY-Style - My hometown pizzeria in Northern NJ :) Can't beat a regular cheese pie or their Potato Bacon Ranch pizza. Love their garlic knots too... mmmm |
