Seems like so far this thread has missed American Flatbread in Burlington and Waitsfield VT. Out of the way, but all natural home grown ingredients, hand made stone oven baked, all sorts of goodness.

I ate there once a few years ago and wasn't really thrilled by it. The idea of an "urban wine cafe and pizzeria" somewhat defeats the point for me, but that's probably because I'm from New York. Give me a couple of large slices in a place with all the pies being made behind the counter any day.
But yeah, I also agree with you that neither qualify as large slice NY pizza type places. I'm sure you've had Slices on Mill Ave. and now at Tempe Marketplace, I always thought they were pretty good. Out here in the East Valley we've got La Famiglia at Alma School and Warner in Chandler, their lasagna pizza (meatball, ricotta, mozzarella, and sauce) is something to go out of your way for. And, of course, Jimmy and Joe's is pretty good too! |

Oh yeah it's by no means the best pizza ever but I didn't think that Pizzeria Bianco was either. Maybe it was all of the hype that you hear before actually eating there but I thought Bianco was good just not over the top great. Given a choice between waiting hours for a table at a crowded cramped Bianco or sitting on the patio at Cibo, I'll take Cibo.

Best pizza is in Kigali Rwanda.

I might get kicked out of New York for this, but The Bell's pizza in Hurley Wisconsin. It's in the middle of no-where and you would NEVER guess amazing pizza can be found here, but WOW.
I'm born and raised in Brooklyn and whilst I love my NY pizza, this actually is pretty awesome. NY - Pizza, I love my old haunts in Brooklyn, like Luigi's on 22nd or Lenny's on Prospect Ave, but Lombardi’s in Manhattan is pretty sweet. |
Best pizza on earth is at Phil's Pizza in Oak Lawn, IL. Get the thin crust with sausage. Carry out/delivery only though, so you might have to eat in the Jewel parking lot across the street.
Deep dish is overrated, but if you must you gotta go with Beggar's Pizza. I don't know anyone in Chicago that regularly gets deep dish. I don't think I had it until I was in high school. I also think Lou Malnati's is way overrated. Beggar's, Giordano's, and Eduardo's are all ahead of Lou's. |

My favorite pizza was from Fox's Pizza Den in and around Pittsburgh. It was mostly due to their sauce, which I would readily admit probably wasn't for everyone. It was a bit unusual.
Been along time since college and on my last trip out there I saw that they are still in business. Didn't have the opportunity, though, to check it out. |
I love Ken's Artisan pizza in Portland.. the wait is a bit long usually but the food is great, and the wine is so reasonably priced..

I'll actually be up that way in a couple weeks, hopefully I'll get time to try it out. clearly you like stuffed deep dish as opposed to pan deep dish, the two are very different pizzas. I don't like stuffed at all as it is mostly cheese and will steer clear of places like Giordano's or Edwardo's. cool, I've got next week to myself as the Mrs is at a conference, so I'm going to try it out.

Milo and Olive in Santa Monica, California now has my vote. Their pork belly pizza and their wild mushroom pizzas are out of this world.

The Four Kegs in Las Vegas is pretty good , Alberts on Long Island & Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn (both are know for upside down pizza) are the best
