Baked halibut with lemon (Gabriel had hers without the lemon). Stir fry vegetables. Sauce was low sodium Tamari, fresh garlic, fresh ginger, and some deli mustard. |

How did you grill the shrimp? Skewers? Marinaded first, or while grilling?

Beautiful cat. I love cat pictures.
saturday pm socially distant pool visit in Menlo Park. We fetched hummus nearby as our host endorsed that place and he’s a good home chef (I verbally exclaimed that he’s my cooking inspiration and even cited their glass Sodastream bottles, but I was partly untruthful). spicy chicken shawarma lamb gyro hummus tzatziki sauce pita (they use the Jerusalem brand that I buy at Gus’s Market! Woah) |
Same thing as last night but this time I took a pic.

Had some Shoulder Blade Pork Chops in the freezer from 2 weeks ago. Took them out around 2 pm, thawed by 6 pm. Used the Air Fryer to cook them as an experiment with just simple kosher salt and fresh ground pepper. It took longer than broiling them (my usual method) and they came out more well done than I usually like it, but the flavor was great. My side was Knorr's Mushroom rice. Overall, a good dinner, but will return to broiling them in the future.

Buffalo chicken with a ranch glaze, topped with cheese, seasonal veggies, and because I'm trying to get rid of some stuff in the freezer, McCain Smiles.

They are like half-fries, half-mashed potatoes. The outside is like a french fry, the inside is like mashed potatoes. They were inexpensive, so I bought two bags. A serving is 5 "smiles" so I'm slowly working my way through the bags.

You can break a donut down to quarters? lol--not me! I am not sure I could even save a half for later. None of those are on my donut list though. Glazed buttermilk is my go to. omg--I want one right now.

We had some leftover last night. I will probably dispose of what’s left later tonight. |

Why? And congrats on having some veggies. |
On the beach tonight, so red wine, sausages, hot soup, crudites and melon. Rather than ketchup, we're going with a Tom Kine tomato based sauce.

I hope you didn't go to all the trouble of making that birria sauce (which I imagine freezes well so make double next time) for just one short rib.

I could (literally?) squeeze them into the freezer. as we all know, turkey burgers are less unhealthy than beef burgers :-)

The “birria” (because obviously it’s my way and not like a real mexican restaurant style) was used for total 4 short ribs (1-1/2 lbs??) and then eaten over a period of days.

Yes, depending on whether turkey breast or dark meat is used there can be less fat than beef. Will your kid not eat a turkey burger? Would he know the difference once you put all of that cheese on it?
we all know the taste difference between turkey and cow meat, even with bunny bun and cheese. I’m not putting lipstick on a pig. Only a sight-challenged person without taste buds wouldn’t know the difference. |
