It's a chilly day here so I was in the mood for some comfort food. I threw a bunch of black beans and spicy sausage, along with various spices in the crock pot to cook together for a few hours. Will make some rice in a bit and serve with more hot sauce! :D

I'll have enough leftovers for at least another 3-4 meals this week.

Friends brought me back burnt ends from Gates BBQ in Kansas City, surely one of the foods that will be served in heaven. :)

Dominos pizza.

Going out for Thai food tonight at Thaiphoon in Raleigh, then bowling where we'll get a bucket of beers.

It was. :) And I discovered I had some Fritos, so could have Frito Pie. Win-win.

Then you didn't grow up with school lunches in small town West Texas, then, I suspect :)

Saw it on a Travel Channel show - in that version, the dish was served in the opened frito bag :)

Yup. A quintessential west Texas gas station lunch :)

My chili is better, though.

I think you can get something like it at Sonic if there's one nearby.

The only one that is remotely close is apparently horrible. :D Perhaps I'll ask for a recipe for it too.

I find everything at Sonic too salty. Frito pie is naturally salty. It could be disastrous.
