Turkey tacos. I roasted the turkey Wednesday night. Housemate turned the leftover into tacos.

One of the kitties stole the taco in the middle!

I wish we still had one nearby. There is a developer who bought the property 5 to 6 years ago as they produced 2 different 6 story office condos to the east of it. They got approval for a third tower back in 2017, but haven't started construction as of yet. They razed the building back in 2017 for the construction, so it now sits as an empty lot with high grass on it.

What I found weird is that Miller's spent close to $500K to expand it to allow hybrid outside seating just a year before they closed it down. With the College crowd from FIU, Barry Univ. and Miami Dade North, this location was always packed. Surprising, they decided not to find a new location nearby. Duffy's opened about 1/2 mile to the East in 2015, and now is just as packed on most nights, however, their food and service is not the same as Ale House was.

I was first introduced to Miller’s back in Pensacola maybe 7-8 years ago. I was very disappointed when they dropped the mahi cooked in foil from the menu. This one is in the Villages and unless you get there before 4 pm, you will wait for a table. They have one dining room without walls except in summer, but the server shortage has kept that room closed for now. As with many restaurants lately, the menu’s been shortened considerably and the beer selection could use improvement.

The concept I miss is BJs Ale House. Their menu is the size of a short novel. Beer selection is good as long as you stay away from the garbage they brew themselves.

That's what I know it as too. Although that may be a result of having several college friends from Texas. "Walking taco" is a new term for me.

Frito pie I would have understood. I think it’s on the menu at Sonic.

It was a staple on the school lunch menu in a little town in west Texas in the '80's.

I have a good friend who grew up in San Antonio who says the same. Apparently not limited to small towns in west Texas :).

Puts my school's "toasted" cheese sandwiches and pizza with orange cheese to shame.

I love bjs - we still have one in tanforan by Sfo. Or so I think! I love the sodas. I would still choose their soda over any beer; that says a lot since I love to get wasted.

Correction: it’s BJ’s Brewhouse. My mistake.

There are 5 in the Orlando area, all on the opposite side of the city. It would take me an hour. And then I couldn’t drive hone.

Grilled Caesar salad with grilled & sliced chicken breast tonight. Long weekend in SC coming up, looking forward to a lot of good seafood and a little beach time to end the summer.

In the late 1970s and early 80s. Still nowadays popular in schools?

I had no idea -- I always assumed a Frito pie was more of a casserole type thing.
